A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Misso ri was held in the City Hall on October 5, 1y71, at x:00 p.m.
and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Fries, Layton, Shelton,
Swetnam and Vulamott were present, Mayor Fil.~er callin said meetin
to order.
Re ular minutes of meetin of September 21, 1.71 and special minute
of meetin;~ of September 2~, were read and accepted as read.
Mayor Fil er spoke with re_;ard to Aztec Constructinn Company
etting their money in escrow and same same was released.
Mans er of Quick Check stated he understood that they would;et their
money back frocri the sewer pro,~ect, and that special bills Por taxes
were tc be issued, so the city could het their money for the
b ildin_, of the sewer this is in District No. 16. He also stated
he would like to obtain a liquob license to sell paeka_,e liquor,
stated as he fi cared it, there was one left in the City, and that
was Flash Marketts.
Shelton moved that the liquor license to sell liquor by the drink on
sunday, be $100.00 per year, seconded by Layton, the roll was called
and Bailey, Fries, Layton, Shelton anQ Vulgamott voted aye; Swetnam
Nay.
Vulgamott moved that Bill No. 87-A-6 being bill providin_. for the
selling of liquor by the drink. in establishments qualifying for same
on Sunday be placed on its first readin , seconded by Bhelton, the roll
was called and otes were as follows:Bailey,Fries,Layton,Shelton,
Vulgamott voted aye; Swetnam Nay, said bill was accordin ly read.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and B111 No. 87-A86 be placed on
its second reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes
were as follows:Bailey,Fries,Layton,Shelton, Vulgamott voted aye;
Swetnam Nay, said bill was accordin ly read.
Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 87-A-6 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage oP same become Ord. No. ~'j-A-6,
seconded by Layton, the roll was called and -otes were as folmowa:
Bailey,Fries,Layton,Shelton,Vulgamott voted aye; Swetnam-nay; said
bill was accordingly read and became Ord. No. 87-A-6.
Vulgamott moved that Don Jack be~u~hor~ ized to study the building code
and prepare a new building code this would consist of approximately .
20 to 30 hours on the comprehensive sewers also included, swetnam
seconded, the roll was called and all voted in favor.
Layton moved that Bill No. D-71-17 bean bill providing for the appropria-
tion of money out of the ;ener3l fund o.* the City of Riverside for the
payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first
reading, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called and all voted in
fa:-or, said bill was accordingly read.
Layton mood that rules be suspended and Bill No. 71-17 be placed on its
second readin;„ seconded by Vulgamott,-the roll weds called and all voted
