A special meeting oi' the Board of Aldermec, oP the City oP Riverside,
nissouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside on September 2~, l~hl
at ~s:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen Bailey, Shelton, Swetnam
and Vulgamott present, Bailey and Layton absent.

The Ordinance was read and the people present ;ave their views.
Mr. D. B. Swetnam stated he was the Jude in Riverside for about 20
years and knows that this type oP drinking does coat the city money.
He also stated other reasons he was not in Paz-or of the ordinance antl
requested the council vote a~~sinst it.
John Llogin askdd how many busness would qualify and it was thought
two, possibly three at the present time. and wondered iP it wo-ld be
worthwhile to change the ordinance.
Mr. West stated that since the state char_~es so much for license and
the city can only o 1-1/2 times, could it be possible to place
any bdsher kind of tax on the liquor by the drink on Sundays.
Mr.Panus stated he represented the Fun House Pizza and was Por the
ordinance and requested that it be placed on the a endy and passed
as radad, he stated all the surroandin~ cities probably would pass it
and that Riverside might ,just as well have same.
Chief Hohimer was asked the question whether he thought it would cost
the City more money as it would probably need more police protection
and he thou ht they would kprobably have to put on an extra policeman,
as oP now they have only one policeman on eamh shift on Sundays.
The Mayor spoke stating that he would veto the ordinance and givin,
his reasons for opposing same, thought it was enough to have liquor
six days per week.
The Flaming Fondue was approved to change their association of'ficera.
and upon motion by Ba9~~egaaa8saeseade~labgs Vulgamott and seconded by
Bailey that the Fondue be approved with regard to some, the roll was
called ad all present voted in favor.
Bailey mooed that the City accept 3ea1-0-MVticts bid Por work on the
road, seconded by Vulgamott, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Bailey-aye; Fries absent; Layton absent;
Shelton, Nay, Swetnam passed and Vulgamott aye.

called and all present voted in Pavor.

A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall on September 21, 1971, at 8:00 p.m.
and upon a roll mll, aldermen Fries, Layton, Shelton, and Vulgamott were
present, Bailey and 8wetnam absent; Mayor Filger calling said meeting to
order.
The Minutes were accepted as corrected for the meeting of September 7,
1971.Correctin that part with regard to Woodside Construction Qa. bein
pald for the work in Woodland Ave. subject to the letterr from said Cons~ructio

Mr. Hon inquired with r~'ar to the i sta
the new group of apartments he anticipated to build and for which he
applied for building permit. After a discussion was had, the suggestion
that if he could work out an agreement with all the people using the
sewer to pay for it, as was done in another sewer district, this would
probably be the best. However, the city should have a copy of the
contract and how the line is to be built and how he proposes to obtain
the money for same.
Mr. Lloyd E.Browr~resented his building application for business
building and it was requested that he have the building bricked on the
highway front and on the west side, and he was agreeable to this, the
application was then approved subject to same. However, ne stated that if
there was too much difference in the cost, he would just brick the front.
Mr. Ray Jackson presented the plans with regard to the sewer
coming down Burlington Creek and explained the project to the City
of Riverside. He stated that Riverside would receive benefit from
this sass as well as Kansas City and upon motion by Shelton that
since the Bur '~gton Creek interceptor project will benefit Riverside
and Kansas is in keeping with the Municipal Agreement as it is
written and iverside Board of Aldermen approve the construction
of the Burlington Creek Project seconded by Layton, the roll was called
and votesxsasasx were in favor of same, Bailey and Swetnam absentl
Mr. Don Jack stated that something shmuld be hxesx~#a~ mss~saxsa~x worked
out for Lee Bush and John Blogin to get into the sewer, as they were
working on same and requesting this be done.
It was reported as of tna time of the meeting=: that nothing had been done
with re;ard to Greents trailer court connectin,_, with the sewer as previously
planned .
It was decided to curbe and pave Woodland avenue for approximately
3b0 Peet, 2b feet, back to back, and to adverise for bids, to be

It was also announced that there would be a special meeting on September 2u,

It was also decided to have the hearing on the Zoming Boards
