A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Mo.
was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Mo. on July ~, 1971, at 8:00 p.m.
and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Fries, Layton, Shelton and
Vulgamott were present, Swetnam absent, and Mayor Filger calling
said meeting to order.
~- The minutes of regular meeting of June 15, 1971 were read and after
correcting that portion of the minutes with regard to hiring Don
Jack as City $n~ineer and leaving the reference to pay out, the
minutes were then accepted as read.
Mr. Don Jack stated that he hzd an open contract which he wondered
if the city would want to enter into or aomeother way facsxt to pay
for his services. Mr. Jack then read the open contract and after
a discussion the council agreed to accept same.
The matter of r riser at Azorskyfs plaae of business and where the
public library was being bui]t was brought up. After a discussion,
it was agreed that putting; the riser in now of sufficient size would
be the angst appropriate thing to do. It was then decided that Mr. Jack
wog-zld prepare apeeifications and that the notice for bids be placed
in the paper. The apecificationa would be ready by noon on July 27,
1971 in Mr. Jackt$ office and then bids would have to be in by
August 3, 1971 Por the regular meeting of the Board oP Aldermen.,
It was then decided that this fob wo ld have to be done, completed
within 30 days Pro,: day of approval of acceptance of bid.
Another matter was the North Land Development wanted approval
with regard to the sewers plan.
An inquiry was to be made of Don Witt for developments with regard
to water pressure.
Upon motion by Layton and seconded by Vulgamott that Bill No. D-71-11
be placed on its first reading, same being for disbursement of funds
out of the general Funds for the payment of certain indebtedness
as listed therein, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey, Fries, Layton, Shelton, Vulgamott voted aye; Swetnam absent,
Bill No. D-71-11 was accordingly read.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-71-11 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by Vulgamott the roll was called and
votes were as followa:Bailey,Bz'ies, Layton,Shelton,Vulgamott voted
aye; Swetnam absent; Bill No. D-71-11 was accordingly read.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-71-11 be planed on its
third reading and upon passe,e of same become Ord. No. D-71-11, seconded by
Vulgamott, the rollraa called and votes were as Follorooa:Bailey,Frles,Layton,
- Shelton And Vul~,amott voted aye; Shelton absent; said bill was ac¢cr Jingly
read, approved by Mayor Fil_;er and became Ord. No. D-71-11.
There bein,=, no Further budness, upon motion duly made seconded and
