.April 20, 1971
A regular meeting of the board of Aldermen of the City of Rivderside, Missouri wsa
held in the City Hall in H•iverside, Missouri on April 27, 1971 at 8:00 p.m. and
upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam, Vulgamott ode present;
Br-nner absent; and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
- Minutes of regular meet9.ng of Board of Aldermen for March 15, 1971 and April 6,
1971 were read and accepted.
Treasurer's report arxt collector's reports for month of March were read and accepted.
Vulgamott moved that Ord. No. 333-23, being Bill to canvass the returns of the
general election of The City of Riverside, held April 5, 1971, seconded by Layton,
the roll was called and Bailey,Layton,Shelton,Swetnam,Vulgamott voted aye; Brenner-absent;
Bill No. 333-23 aas accordingly recd.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and that Bill 333-23 be pl-ced on its second reading,

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill ~Io. 3 33-23 be pl.ced on its third
re ding and upon assage of same become Ord. No. 3 33-23, seconded by Bailey, the roll was

Layton moved that the tie in the election for the alderman of the second ward
be voted upon by secret ballot, a.nd upon a discussion, of same, secret ballots were
cast, voting on Gene Iverson and Plbert Fries, Jr., A counting of the ba lots was
made by the clerk and upon adding the tabulation, 1?lbert Fries, Jr. received three
votes and Iverson received two votes and Albert Fries, Jr. becoming alderman of
the second ward.

voted in favor of a proving occupation license.

Outdoor advertising representatives were present requesting permission for :Wore
signs tote installed in Riverside, and hhey were advised of the ordinance in. effect
regarding same.

'hrket, wnd the council members present all voted the dismissing of the csse with
no charges.

sould be done to prevent this problem.
Metropolitan Manning inquired with regard to sesuring maps from
Mr. Myers and wanted a letter sent to the Manning Comwiasian autho~is~ng
their assuring certain maps. The eounsil suggested that Mr. l[itt take
s are of this problem and that all our maps draw~nga a~i other material
which Mr. Myers has be turned over to the ~ity. Mr. Witt would handle.

Vulgamott moved that notice be served on the

Layton moved that bill No. D-71-7 being bill providing for the
appropriation oP money out of the gersral Pund of the City of Riverside,
Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein
be placed an its first reiding, sesonded by Dailey, the roll was
Balled and Bailey, Layton, Fries, Shelton, Swetnam, Vulgamott voted
aye; Bill N0. D-71-7 was acsoriingly read.
Layton mused thAt rules be suspended and Bill No. D-71-7 be placed
on its sesond reading, sesonded by Bailey, the roll was called
and votes were as follows Bailey, Layton Fries, Shelton, Swetnam,
Vulgamott voted aye; Bill No. D-71-7 was acsordingly read.
Bailey moved that roles be suspended aid bhat Bill No. D-71-7 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage of same besoae
ordinance No. D-71-7, seconded by Swetnae~, the roll was salled and
votes were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Fries, Shelton, Swetnam
Vulgaeott voted aye; Bill No. D-71-7 was accordingly read, approved
~y Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-71-7.
There being no further business, upom motion duly made sesonded.,
