December 1, 1970
A regular Meeting of the Beard of Aldermen of the City of River-
side, Missouri was held in the City Hall ~nRverside, Missouri e~h 8:OQ p.m.
December 1, 1970, and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Layton,
Shelton, Swetnam, Vulgamott were pre.:~ent, Brenner a'osent for roll
call and present remaining of meeting, Ma;ior r'ilger callin5 said
meeting to or der.
It was agreed by the council and Mayor to dispense with
reading of the minutes, for the last two general meetir~~;s.
The Mayor and count it agreed to repair Mandan Road.
Upon a discussion, occupation license were approved for
Quick Trip store.
The 1~7ayor and Council approved the writing of a letter to
Attorney Don Witt, authorizing him to settle the Cereto Lane
litigation as reflected in his lettt;r of December 1, 1970, ,apon
the dismissal of the law suit against the City, for 100 of
the amount in escrow.
Vulgamott moved that O:r~dinances 252 Rl and 252 R2 be repealed
and also any in conflict with ordinance No. 252 R3 and also he
moved that $ul~:s be suspended and Bill No. 252 R3 being bill
providing for the registration of motor vehicles owned and
operted within the City of Riverside by residents and business
establishments ~~pc~st$g~eoUc~.x ar_d that the said fee for each
such vehicle shall ~e $5.00, and providing far penalties,
seconded by bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows
Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Vulgamott, Shelton and Swetnam noted aye;
h3Bi11 No. 253-R3 was accordingly read.
Vulgamott moved that r.:.les be suspended and Bill No. 25~ R3
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll
was called and votes were as f ollows: Bailey, Brenner, $ayton,
Shelton, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted aye; Bill No. 252-R3 wsa~
accordingly read.
Vulgamott moved that Bill No. 252-R3 be placed on its third
reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 252-R3, seconded
by Bailey the roll was called and votes weae as follows: Bailey,
Brener, Layton, Swetnam, 3zelton Vulgamott voted aye; B~11 No. 252-R3
was accordingly read, a.~proved by Mayor r'ilger and became Ord. No.
252-R3.
Thereupon motion ma de by Shelton that Bil_ No. D-70-22 being B__11
providing for ap~oproation of money out of the general fund of
the city of Riverside, Mi _souri for the payment of certain indebtedness
as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by
Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows:Bailey,Brenner
Layton, Shelton, :;wetnam, Vulgamott voted aye; Bill I~`o. D-70-22 was
accordingly read.
Bailey moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-70-22 be
placed on its sec nd reading, sec_-nded by Brenner, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Bailey, Brenner, Layot~•., Shelton,
Swetnam, Vulgamott voted aye; Bill No. D-70-22 aas accordingly
read.
Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill ~~Io.D-7O-22
be placed on its third r~;ading and upon passage of same become
Ordinance No. D-70-22, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam,
Vulgamott voted aye; Bill No. D-7~-22 was accordingly read, approved
by Mayor ~''ilger and became Ord. No. D-70-22,
There being no further business, upon motiolh, by Bailey, and seconded
by Brenner meeting adjourned. ~ ~/ ~/
