A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City ofRiverside,
Missouri Baas held in the City Hall in Riverside, on September 1,
1'~i70, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Brenner,
Layton, Swetnam and Vulamott were present, Shelton absent,
Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of meeting of August 18, 1)70 were read and accepted as
redd.
Treasurer's report of July, 1',70 was read and accepted. Collector's
report of August, 1>70 was read and accepted.
Mr. Myers advised that the special meeting, for opening of bids
for constr~_-.ction of sewer district no. 16 will be opened on September 8,
1,:70.
{~Ir. Myers also stated thathe received a letter fro~.n Shelly gas
for installation of line and he would advise as to the cost of permit.
V. Green and wife were present and wanted i~orthwood repaired
and would like to have the traffic slowed down if possible. He was
ad~:~ised the police department would work with the matter and that the
road was in need of repair and they would see what could be worked out.
Mr. James K. Walker spoke with regard to having an electrical inspectioxt
for all the buildin;~s being built in Riverside and stated that he would
work with the city to start the matter, that his cost would be included
in the building costs.
q David Brenner' pplication for building permit and Eagle Animal
Hospital for buildin~~~ approved by the council.
Plsst. Chief Hhhimer inquired with regard to hiring a maintenance
man for cleanin_, city hall, for 25.00 a week, and the council did not
approve of the request.
Upon motion by Swetnam that Bill No. D-70-16 be placed on its
first reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and all present,
Bailey, Brenner, Swetnam, Layton and Vul~amott voted aye; Shelton abseent,
Bill No. H-70-16 was accordingly ead.
Swetna!rmoved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-7,0-16 be
placed on its second readin:;, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called
and cotes were as follows; Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Swetnam and Vul,amott
voted ayel Shelton absnet; Bill No. D-70-16 was accord in ly read.
Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D- 70-16
be placed on its third reading and upon passa_.e of same become
Ord. No. D-70-16, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes
were as follows Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Swetnam and Vulgamott voted
aye; Shelton absent, Bill No. D-~0-16 was accordin,_ly read, approved
by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-70-16.
There being no further business, uponmotion duly made seconded,
that meeting adjourn, meetin~~, adjourned.
