A reg~~.lar meeting of the Board of A]d ermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missl ri
on i~'ebruary 17, 1970, and at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen
Bailey, Layton, Shelton,Swetnam and Younj were present, Brenner, absent;
Mayor F'ilger callin;~ said meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meeting of r'ebruary 3, 1970 were read and
accepted as read.
The bids were opened regarding installation of culvertson
High drivefor tine Sewer. Tiie Bids were as follo,~~s : Woodside Construc-
tion $5570.65 - Purcell Construction $6032.65.
The matter was brought up that the construction co~panies
had to know immediately with regard to their accepting the bid because
of labor matters and the price would have to change. Also Mr. Myers
stated he wrote the two o~Jners of the -~rorerty on the place where
the sewer line would go, and he tho~!ght he wapzld get an answer and
the proper papers signed shortly. He had told them that this would
improve the value of the property should it begin to get developed.
Also P4r. ~'Iyers told them that they need not worry about the assessment
for quite a long time.
Mr. Myers suggested and recommended that we accept the low
bid if the figures are correct.
Layton moved that we accept Woodside Construction Company's
bid of ~557o•B5 providing that the figures are correct and that same
being bill No. 206-12, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called azd
votes were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Stzelton, Young and ~wetnam
voted aye; 3renner a:}sent; Bill No. 2~~-12 t•ras accordingly read.
Layton moved that; rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-12 be placed on
its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Ba~1ey, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam and Young voted aye;
Brenner-absent; Bill No. 2J6-12 was accordingly read.
Bagley moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-12 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage of same, bec:>me Ordinance
No. 206-12, seconded by Young, the roll was called and votes werBreru-zer-
follows: ~3aile;r, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam and Young voted ayd;
absent, Bill No. 206-12 was accordingly read, a~?proved by Mayor Nilger
and became Ord. No. 206-12.
Mr. Myers inquired how the crossing of past Riverside
road would be financed. He thought the best would be for the issuance
of tax_ bills and~,the people w ou~d be given a chance to pay cash
immediately or extend over a period of ti~~ie with interest.
The Residential buildin,; a~,~plications of P. K. ventry and
Irl Lowrey were accepted and approved, upon motion by Shelton and
seconded by Swetnam, same were unanimously accepted.
Shelton moved that we accept Interstate Oil Corp. B~zilding
a~?plication, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and all voted in
favor.

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No.
17-1 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same
become Ordinance No. 17-1, seconded by ~wetnam, the roll was called
and notes were as follows: Bailey, Shelton, awetnam, Layton and Young
voted aye; Brenner-absent; I~4aidY~bill was accordingly read, a~~;roved
by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. 17-1.

priation of moneyout of the general fund of the City of Riverside,
Missouri be paid the persons and companies listed therein be placed on
its first reading, seconded by Swetna~, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Bailey, Layton, Shelton- Swetnam, Young voted ayd;
Brenner-absent; Bill No. D-70-4 was accordingly regd.
Baileymoved that rules be suspended and Bill P,'o. D-70-!}
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Layton, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Bailey- Layton, Melton, Swetna, and Youn g
voted ayd; Brenner absent; and $ill~io. D-70-1.4. was accordingly read.
Layton moved gnat rules be sus pended and Bill No. D-70-1} be
placed on ita third reading and upon pass&~ge of same become Ord. No.
D-70-~, seconded by Swetnar~, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Bailer, Layton, ahelton, awetna°-., Young voted aye; Brer,.ner-absen
Bill No. D-70-Z} was accordingly read, a~Uroved by Mayor Filger and became
Ordinance No. D-70-4..
There being no further business, meeting ad~ouaned.
