Oct. 21,1968 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of Cityof Riverside, Missou ~a hpld in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on October 21, 1868, ~~d ~~8n 'roll call, aldermen Brenner, Bailey, Swetnam, Shelton, and Young were present, Layton, absent, and Mayor Filgercallin~ said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of Oct. 7, 1969, were read and accepted. Mr. Myers advised that the excavating of the new drive in on 71 highway was moving low of dirt and changing the water channel, and that perhaps the culvert over 50th street would not hold the water and maybe somethin;; should be done before too much more grading is done. It was suggested that Mr. Myers contact Mr. Vaughn and come up with detailed plans for this theatre, and that Mr. Vaughn should be advised that the requirements have come up to the requirements of the City Engineer, this being a motion made and seconded and unanimously passed. Mr. Myers suggested that the widening of Highdrive be put off until the Highway ~=-,ets their thoroughfare in and we were to het into an a~~reement that this would be in order, from the Highway Dept. Mr. Myers also advised that the new law passed in missouri was that on the bids to be obtained, that the labor rates had to be included in the contract, therefore, on the sewer to be constructed, the data had to be redone and then readvertised with the labor rates stated therein, anso that Mr. Myers be authorized to proceed with the advertising for the bids on the two I-635 road cros~ngs, upon motion made and seconded the roll was called and all present voted infavor. Swetnam moved that letter be written to CityAttorney advising him .that he should talk the matter over with the Council before he represents clients and the City of Riverside, in the same matters, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and all present voted in favor. Young moved that 50th street be graded this is on the east side of Highway 71, and graded to where it connects withp~~~~~~acktop road, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and all v in favor. Brenner moved that Bill No. 343-1o-Al bein;_ bill a!nending Ordinance No. 343-10 of the City of Riverside, prescribing the boundaries of sewer district number five ~y changing said boundaries of sewer district No. five, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and Bailey, Brenner, Shelton, Swetnam, and Young voted aye; Layton, Absent, and I9aid Bill Rio. 343-10-A1 was accordingly read. Brenner moved that Bill No. 343-34 being bill establishing a sewer district to be known as sewer district No. 6, and prescribing the boundaries bhereof be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and Ba~ey, Brenner, Shelton, Swetnam and Young voted aye; Layton, absent, Bill No. 343-34 was accordingly read. Brenner moved that Bill No. 343-35 being bill establishing a sewerdistrict to be known as District No.7 and prescribing the boundaries thereof be placed mh its first readin_;, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and Bailey, Brenner, Shelton, Swetnam an Young oted aye; Layton Minutes of reg. meeting Oct. 21,lyby, page ~. absent, and Bill No. 3~+3-35 was accordingly read. Brenner moved that Bill No. 343-36 being bill estabilshing sewer district No. ~~ 8 and prescribing the boundaries, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey, Brenner, Shelton, Swetnam and Young voted aye; Layton, absent, and maid bill was accordingly read. Mr. Pettit the county sanitarian requested letter fnm City that hebe appointed the City Sanitarian. Shelton moved that the business applicat3min of 0. B. Chaney for Riverside Aircraft Sheetmetal school and J 8c J Service application for service station be approved and that Wm. D. Martin's appliction for remodeling Tony*s drive in and David Brenner2s application for 4-plexes be approved, seconded by Swetnam, the raoll was called and a~o~x all present voted aye. Shelton moved that Bill No. D-y8-18 being bill providng for the appropriation of funds for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Brenner, the raoll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey, Brenne- Shelton- Swetnam and Young ~~ted aye; Layton absent, Bill No. D-98-18 was accordingly reSd. Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-g8-18 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows, Bailey, Brenner, Shelton-Swetnam, and Young voted aye; Layton absent, Bill No. D-y8-18 was accordingly read. rules be suspended and Brenner moved that/Bill No. D-98-18 be placed on its third reading and kupon passar_;e of same become Ord. No. D-g8-18, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Ynung-aye; Ses Layton-absent' Bill No. D-y8-18 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-98-18. No further business, meeting adjourned.
