HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-06-17Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri June 17, 1969 A regular meeting of the Board of Alderman of the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City Hallin Riverside, Missouri, on June 17, 1969, at 5:00 p.m. and upon a r oll call, aldermen Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Shelton, ~~ung were present, Swetnam absent, and Mayor ilger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of June 3, 1969, were read ~ d accepted. Treasurers report for month of May, 1969, was read and accepted. The Mayor reported that the rezoning hearing iaa$otx~atx scheduled for this meting was post~ned and would have the hearing on July 15, 1969. Mr. Glen Teel o~ West Rive~~side Street stated that there was considerable dust caused by the Asphalt Plant which was a d etriment to their business and also Eddie Anderson stated not only dust but also there was an oil settling on the area, they both stated they didn't want to cause the man any trouble and would like to see him in business, however this situation was not a good one. Layton suggested that the police department advise the owner of this situation and have him present at the next meeting, July 1, 1969. It was also suggested that more pictures be taken, as this same problem came up the prior year, and the party stated he was in the process of correcting same. Mrs. Danis advised that the condition and wondered if s omething !}5 Highway was closed, most all the and the road was g etting worse. Shelton moved that Mr. Myers be given authority to award a contract and that the City will underwrite the tax bills on 1} crossinges of sewers under state highways, for atentative estimave of 20,000.00. That the Tax bills be charged or a signed to the Pr' operty owners as of the date that the City Puts out the mone~and the pe ople can pay them off, seconded by Layton, the roll west alled and unanimouel.y passed. Mr. Myers advised h~ inspected Skyline Inn's sewer line and advised that itw ^s not properly installs d and that s ame w as tots corr~eted. Bailey moved that Bil1No. D-69-12 being bill providing f or the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri, for the payment of certain indebtedne s as listed the rein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; ~b~g-aye; Bill No. D-69-12 was a ccordingly read.
