Meeting of Board of Aldermen
City of Riverside, Missouri
April 1, 1968
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, iY~issouri on April 1,
196„ at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Brenner,
Layton, Shelton, Swetnam, Young-were present, Mayor Filger absent;
Acting Mayor Yung calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of March 18, 1969, meeting were read and accepted.
Collector's report for month of March, 1969, was gad.
~ note was read from Seneker, advisfig that Mrs. Pat Williams,
daughetr of Art Sheller called and asked if there was any possibility
of obtaining a refund on the occupation license, and after a discussion
it was thought this might start a precedent and that it would probably
be best not to do this.
A letter from L. D. Vaughn dated March 31, 1969, requesting
the Scavuzzo tract of land be rezoned and a portion of the Meadows
land be rezoned for th.e usage of a Drive-In theatre. There was
also attached a Bank Money Order in the sum of $25.00. Mr. Dorsey
advised the other $50.00 weuld be mailed to the city in a day or
two.
Shelton moved that Bill Nc. 55-8 beiplaced on its first reading,
seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as allows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill No. 55-8 was accordingly read.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 55-8 be placed on
its second reading, seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Sheldon-aye; Layton-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Bill No. 55-8 was accordingly read,
Bailey moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 55-8 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 55-8,
seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye;
Bill No. 55-8 was accordingly read, approved by Acting Mayor Young and
became Ordinance No. 55-8.
Layton moved that Bill No. 55-9 be placed on its first reading,
seconded by Shelton, the rollwas called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Bruner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Hwetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill No. 55-9 was accordingly read.

Brenner moved thatjBill No. 57-9 be placed on its second reading,
seconded by Shelton- the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill N .

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 55-~ be placed
on its third reading, s~~~~~~~ and if same be passed that it become
Ordinance No. 55-9, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes

Swetnam-aye; Y ung-aye; Bill No. 55-9 was accordingly read, approved by

Bailey moved that Bill No. 333-20 being bill can¢assing the returns
of the election, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Layton,
the roll was called and rotes were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye;
Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swtnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. 333-20
was accordingly read,
rules be suspended and
Layton moved that/Bill No. 333-20 be placed on its second ereaing,
seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill No. 333-2o was accordingly read.
Bailey moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 333-20 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 333-20,
seconded by Layton, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Layton-aye; Brenner-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-ale; Bill No. 333-2o was accordingly read, approved by ~a~ss~cting

Layton moved that Bill N0. D~-7 be placed on its first reading,
seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and votes were as follows:

Young-aye; Bill No. D-69-7 was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-69-7 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Shelton-aye; ~~~ Layton-
aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill N D-69-7 was according read,
Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill Nc~. D-69-7 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. D-69-7,
seconded by She~tnn, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill N_,. D-69-7 was accordingly read, approved by Acting
Mayor Young and became Ord. N D-69-7,
Upon motion by Brenner and seconded by Young that the meeting adjourn;
there being no further business, meeting adjourned.
