A regular meet'n~ of the 'hoard of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missoari
,•ras held in the City allin Riverside, I~•Io. on i'Iarch ~, 1964, at 3:00 p.m. and
upon a roll call, aldermen Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Shelton, Swetnagland Young were
presdnt, Mayor Filger c<~11ing said m ee;,~tffing to order.
i•4inutes of meet;ng of Feb. 16, 1969 were read and approved as corrected.
Colh ctor's report for m nth of February,l969, was read and accepted.
Treasurer's report for m-nth o£ January, 1969, *aas read and accepted.
I4r. 24c1ieon spoke an behalf of Clay-P]atte Little League Baseball, requesting
that the City donate money for material for a 12 x 12 bui_ldi.ng of c::ncrete blocks;
material aryl escavat~.ng the d_rt off the hill and building a retaining T,rall;
and building and material for bleachers, a11of which :,could cost a pproxim«'iely
X1000.00. The wall would be 1`~" deep and 1i." Bride. P~Ir. Filger advised he would
appo~.nt a c ommittee and see what c euld be worked out.
Mr. I~.aybree of Indian Hills inquired if the Oity Had an ordinance for building
a fence of if this ~,rere ;n therestrictions of Indian Hills, he stated his restrictions
or the copy he had was not printed too clear. He was advised that perhaps
Mr. Panus would be able to tell him with regard tp fencing.
Mr. Woodside presented his plans for temporary building and also
application for permit to have a trailer at the building site.
Mr. R~pp of the Parkville Volunteer Fire Department agelin inquired
whether Riverside would be willing to expend the money to put the
truck in order to keep it in Riverside, the Council and Mayor advised
they would talk it over and go to the Volunteer Fire Department meeting
on March 11, 1869, at Graden School and then obtain more information and
see what can be worked out.
Asst. Chief Seneker requested permission to buy miseellaneous items
for the police department, totalling $5,490.54, as listed in letter he
presented to council dated 3-4-69. That the council also approve the purchase
of a radio for the police car and the one ~n the police car would be put in
the patrol wagon; and that Mr. Lawry have permission to purchase the old
radio for $50.00. ~~~.~+~~r--~
Shelton moved that the police department be given permission to
p~ ~h sbe ~ ~tems as listed in Mr. Seneker's letter of 3-4-69, for the
su~ ~~ $~,~~~.54, that also the new police car radio be purchased for the
sum o~x not to exceed $525.00 and that Mr. Lawry purchase the old radio for
the sum of $50.00 „seconded by Bailey, the roll was called and unanimously
passed.
Young moved that the City spend $600.00 on bleachers for the ball park,
that same are to be tlhe City*s property and that the Ball league absorb the
other costs of work to be done, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called
and said motion unanimously passed.
Swetnam moved that Bill No. D-~9-5 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the general fund of the city of Riverside, Mo.
for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its

first reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill No. D-69-5 was accordingly read.
Brenner moed that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-69-5 be placed
on its ~~~vnd reading, seconded by Layton, the roll was caled and votes
were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. D-69-5 was accordingly read.
Layton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-~9-5 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No.
D-69-5, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as Blows:
Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye;
Bill No. D-69-5 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became
Ord . No . D-69-5,
Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Layton, meeting ad,joun~d.
