HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-02-04Minutes of Regular meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of ' Riverside, Missouri ~ Februry 1}, 1969 A regular meetin g of the Boa rd of Aldermen of City of Riversides Missouri was-held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on February !}, 1969, at 8:00 p.m.iand~upon a roll call, Aldermen Brenner, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam and Young were present, Bailey, absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes oP Regular meeting of Jan. 21, 1969, w ese read and accepted as read. A hearing was had by the Board of Aldermen on the rezoning of certain property regpested by Mr. Balsep, and the Mayor and Board of Aldermen were in accord on the property being rezoned for multiple dwellings. Cole etor~s report for month oP January 1969, was read and accepted. Treasurers report for month of Deeemberk 1969,w as read and accepted. Raym:~nd Walks, inquired with regard to what should b® done about his automobile which was left outside the City Hall, when he was arrested for nc~' proper license and the block fnaze and cracked. He advised it would take ai -oximately X200100 to repair. The council had a discussion with regard to same and the police department were t o handle the matter. Mr. Mendenhall advised that he was wondering if the City wanted him to cut the brush e~ong the city Streets, for the cost ~G600.00, however, before he was given autlhoority, Layton and Swetnam were t o made a survey of the situation and then would advise Mr. Mende3~hal1. With regard to the volunteer fire daps rtment, 'young stated he was making a survey and stated iP they collected from all the placed in 8iverside, that they should be getting approximately X5600.00 which be more than ample to pay ~BBr the equiiment, and a xpenses. Also the matter that the fire chief stated that it would take approximately X800. or X900 to put the present truck into operating condition. With regard to the Cityts finances, Young reported that the City was coming out evey f or the year, he talbd to Mr. Adams at the Riverside Bank and M r. Adams said he would give the City !}~ this year on the savings. Shelton moved that the City purchase 1}6 chairs at 10.00 each for the C~*.y Hall, Swetnam seconded the motion -Motion carried. Shelton moved that the ppolice depar~tmentts salaries be increased as follows: Asst. Chiefs from present X600.00 to $620.00 per month; Sgt~s from present x!}65.00 to $515.00 per month and Cpl~sfrom prea~nt ~L}65.00 to $1}80.00 per month, all becoming a ffective as of February 1, 196~~ seconded by Layton, the roll was c alled and motion carried. Layton moved that BillAlo.D-69-3 being b illproviding for the appropriation of mone,p out of the General Fund of The City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed there in b e placed on its first reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey-absent; Brenne r-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-eye; Swetnam-eye; Young-aye; Bill No. D-69-3 was accordingly read. rules be suspended and Shelton moved that bill No. D-69-3 be placed on its second reading seconded by Layton, the roll was o alled and notes were as follows: Ba?1 ey-absent; Brenner-eye; Layton-eye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-eye; Younh-aye; Bill No. D- 9-3 was accordingly read. No. D-69-3, seconded by ing, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey-absent; Brenner-a6e; $Tfelton-eye; Layotn-aye; Swe beam-aye; Young-eye; Bill No. D-69-3 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor F~_lger and became Ord. No. D-69-3. No further business,lmeeting adjourned.
