HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-04-16Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen City of Riverside, Missouri A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen oi' City of Riverside, N:issouri was held in the City :call in Riverside, on April 16, 1968, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen Bailey, Brenner, Layton, Shelton, Swetnam and Young were present, Mayor Calling said meeting to order. Minute of regular meeting of April 2, 1968 were r<,ad and after correction that portion. thatflthe City Attorne „furnish the City all of the City Attorneys opinions in wf~ting, c'ianging~that the City Attorney furnish from this date on theCity all of the ~ity Attorneys opinions inwriting~;etc. the minutes were them pproved as corrected. N:r. Edmonds of careen Terrace Tra9b r court requested the road tole repaird to the traler court, and N.r. Young advised that they were talking to Mr. Myers and met with ramon Purcell and advised theft here werF some drainage problems to solve before this could be repaimd, and it was suggeted that the council meet with N: r. Edmonds and P~Sr. Myers and see what could be worked outs and it was agreed to meet on this coming Sat. morning at 10:00 a.m. J & A delivery Service requested occupation license and same were granted. Mr. Myers opened the bid on the pavan; of Cex''er,to Street, as there was only one bid received this was in the sum of w6,366.14 if the curbs whieh were there w:~uld be left in, and if all new curbin~~ was put in, the cost Bould be ~9,097.5~• Layton moved that t".e City accept the bid for ~~~366.11~. sub3ect to the working out the financing of the work, that is the tax bills, etc., seconded by Brenner, the roll was calledand votes were as follows: Brenner,-aye; Bailey-s ye; Layton-eye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye/ It was suggested that P?r. I-orsey ha~;e this worked out by our next meeting; so that the proper ordinance can be gassed authorizing the work to be started. Mr. Myers also stated something should be done a~;:out the people who w anted to be connected to the sewers and theft itwould have to be worked out shortly, he stated he figured the bill and added two dollars for service charge for the city, however sor:ethirg would have to be done about collecting same. Young suggested that the city men=t with the officials of the Missouri Cities Water 6ompany, upon motion by Swetnam that Young and lU'yers n:gotiate with the officials of the Missouri Cities water company working?; out an agreement for their collecting the dewer charge, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Bailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-eye; Young-aye. read A letter was ~ax~t~aA regarcing request of the Zoming Board to rezone certain p roperty east of 71 Highway in Rive side,and this information caas to be passed on to the Zoming Board Chairman. Swetnam moved that Bill No. D-bB-~ being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the Treasurer of the City of Riverside T°issouri. for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be paced on its first reading,secanded by Lai ley, the roll was called and v tes were as follows: iailey-aye; Brenner-aye; Laytongaye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-eye; Y~ung~-aye/ Bill P?o. D-btu-8 was accordingly read. D-b!~-8, seconded by Brenner, the roll wascalled ar.d votes were as follows Bailey-aye; Brenner-a-re; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. D-68-8 was accordingly read, approved by N:ayor Filger and became Ordinance Pto.
