HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-04-02Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri April 2, 1968 A regular meetingg of the Board of Aldermen ofCity of Riverside, Missouri, was held in the City :call in Riverside, on April 2, 1968, and upon a r oll call, aldermen Klemm, Layton, S~na~~a Swetnam and Young were present, Clark and Shelton absent, and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of regular meeting of March 19, 1968, and Marc[ 5, 1968 were read and accepted as read. Collectors report for month of March was read, and accepted as read. It was suggested to write the insurance co~pany (Continental Casualty Company) regarding the False Arrest Insurance Policy No. RD 9399287, Qnd receive in writing from the company or the agent a r ider to .attach to the policy that this covers all the city officials, officers asw ell as sll the polio department and all city employees. Young moved that a resolution be passed requeGting that the,Ci~y ~ Attorney furnish to the city all of the City Attorney¢~s opinions writing for its files, seconded by Klemm, the roll wasc alled and votes were as follows Clark-absent; Klemm-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-absent; Swetnam-aye; Youiig~aye. Swetnam inquired of the Police Department regarding the Brenner Trailer Court and Seneker advised the situPtion was the same as he left it the other week, told Brenner to come to the counbil and sse if it were legal to have the traders moved in, and ~;r. Dorsey was als~o'e~sntacted~ax~d:was to advise regax3ing same. The police committee advised they had requests f rom the Police Department for the following: Traffic tickets - ~519.U0; License Plate Book - 180.00; Replace certain forms - $50.00; and Jacket from Geo. Pease - X20.00; -- Layton moved that these items be purchased, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were ~s follows: C1=rk-absent; Klemm-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-eN~l; Swetnam-eye; Young-ays; The matter of hospitalization was discussed by the Police Committee and they reported that they came up with a policy which would be on a temporary basis or month to month basis for the three fulltime policemen that a father investigation w ou"~d be made with other insurance compan~res and bids secured; that if they come up with different type a refund will be secured from the present insurance agent; that the riayor would apooirt a committee to look into the matter; however, at present insurance was ordered at the cost of X1,051.26 for one year as follows: Seneker X594.32, Hohimer- 284.00 and Bigler - 172.!}9; upon motion by Layton that the foregoing insurance be secured, ands econded by Klemm the roll wasc alled and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klemm-aye; ~aytan-aye; Shelton-absent; Swetnam-eye; and Young-aye! Young moved that Bill No. 333-18 being bill canvassing the returns of the general election held in the City of Riverside, Missouri, on April 2, 1968, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klemm-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-abe~nt Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. 333-18 was accordingly read. Layton moved that rules b e s usepnded and Bill Pao. 333-18 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was cal led and votes were as City of Riverside, Reg.
