Minutes ~of' Regular Meeting
of Board of Aldermen of
City of Riverside
Missouri
March 19,19b8
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Mo. on
March 19 ,, 1968, at S;4P P•M• .and upon a roll call, aldermen Klamm,
La.yton~ Shelton, Swetnam, and Young were present, Clark absent, and
Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
Young moved that we dispense with reading theminutea of last
meeting until the next regular meeting, seconded by Klamm, the roll
was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-eye; Layton-
ays; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye.
Collectors report for month of January, 1968, was read and
accepted.
Mr. Kahler presented a plat to be accepted by the City, and
upon motion by Swetnam that the plat be accepted and that sale be
Bill No. 246-10, with the anderstanding that the city will receive
a copy of said plattwith all recort~ing data on it, seconded by Klamm,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: 61ark-absent; Klamm-
aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-sye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. 24b-10
was accordingly read.

Klamm moved that/Bill No. 24b-10 be placed on its second
readings econded by Swethan, the roll was called and votes were as

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and bi11N0. 246-10 b e

Swetnam-ay s; Y ung-aye; B311 No. 246-10 was accordinglq read,approved
by Mayor Fiiger and became Ord. No. ,246-10.
Steve Bs~unner, attorney representing the Drive-In Theatre in
Piverside, inquired with regacrd to the party who was going t o have an
asphalt manufacturing plant close to the threatre and stated that
he was under the impression that it was making loth of dust and that
perhaps the odors would not bet oo pleasant for the people attending
the theatre, However, to date the plant had not been in operation
and thought the dirt and noise was probably from trucks going to the
other road construction place, Mr. Brauner was advised that this
concern had obtained permit to install the portable plant on temporary
bads only. Young suggested that since the Theatre put in the curs
and paved the street that it should b e made a boulevard and not allow
trucks to drive upon it.
--' Mr. E. I. Myers advised that Kansas City, Missouri are now
going to put in the sewers dn~in Jumpin Branch and that Rive^side has
to obtain the right of way. Mr. Myers also advised that his crew would
be this wag shortly and he would have them survey the VanDepopulier
road and also High drive. He also menti~:ned that thepeople building
thQ addition in Indian hills has obtained other engineers and Mr. Meyers
will approve same when it ready for approval. He also stated the

Homeste d housing project sewers was sufficient to carry all the water
shed which will come in that area. With regard To Country Charn
Hairy, Mr. Myers stated they had to obtain clearance from other parties.
Shelton moved that Mr. Dorsey run the add in the paper for the
bids on the road in 7-6aks addition and that they are to be opened by
the Mayor or Engineer at the earliest possible dates namely April 16,
I96ti, Klamm seconded the motion, the r oll was called and votes were
as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-eye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye;

Layton moved that Bill No. 15-2 - being pill providing for
com ensation to b e paid the Mayor and Alderman -- the compensation to
be 10.00 for their attendance at each regular council meeting, that
they be on time and remain at the full meeting until dismissed by
the Mayor, seconded by Shelton the rollwasc alled and votes were
as follows: Clark-abssnt; Layton-aye; Klamm-aye; Shelton-eye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-eye, Bill No. 15-2Fas accordingly read.

on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and

placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance
No. 15-2, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and votes were as

Young-aye; Bi11 No. ~~-2 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor
Filger and became Ord. No. 15-2.
Swetnam moved that Bill No. 333-17 being bill authorizing the
General City Election to b e held in the City of Riverside, Missouri,
April 2, 1968, seconded by Klamrr, the roll was called and votes were
Clark-absent; Klamm-eye; Layton-aye; Shelton-eye; Swetnam-eye;_Y~ung
Bill No. 333-17 was accordingly read.

_ Layton moved that the City ~unchase a IInited States Flagg
seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes were as follows:

Said Flag would be purchased by the Police Department.
Chief Seneke r reported that he saw some trailers being moved
in Brenner Ridge Trailer Court and stopped any further action until

Curtis Brenner came to council meeting and got its approval.
Young moved that Bi11No. D-68-b being Bill providing for the
appropriation of moneyout of the Several Fund of the City of Riverside,
Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein
be placed onits first reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll wsa called
and votes were as follows: Glark-absent; Klemm-eye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-eys; Swetnam-aye; Young-sy®; Bill No• D-b~-b, was accordingly
read.
Klemm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No• D-68-b, be
