of Riverside, Mo.
January 2, 1968
A regular mewing of the Board of Aldermen of The City of River-
side, Missouri, was held in the City Hall January 2, 1968, at
8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Klamm, Layton, Shelton
and Young were present, Elark and Swetnam were absent and Mayor Filger
calling said meeting to order.
Young moved that we dispense with reading the minutes of last
meeting, seconded by Layton, motion unanimously passed.
Mr. D. B. Swetnam, Police Court Judge advised that he ~DUld
tell the council that he was not going to run as Judge atthe coming
election, and he expressed his appreciation and thanks to all for
and during his position as Police Court Judge.
Engineer Myers advised that the Ordinances passed at the last
meeting regarding Highdrive, Norwood Road and Vandipopulier Road
did not meet with the approval of the Highway Department, as they
wanted a period of time within which these roads would be improved.
Young moved that Bill No. 206-5-A being bill amending Ordinance
No. 206-5, be placed on its. first reading, seconded by Layton, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absents Klamm-aye;
Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye, Bill No. 206-5~A
was accordingly read.
Kalmm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-5-A be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called
and votes were as followsa Clark-absent; Klamm-ayes Shelton-aye;
Layton-aye; Swetian-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 206-5-A was accordingly
read.
Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-5-A be
placed a2 its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No.
206-5-A, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and votes were as
followsz Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Shelton-aye; Layton-aye; Swetnam-absent;
Young-aye; Bill No. 206-5-A was accordingly read, approved by Mayor
Filger and became Ord. No. 206-5-A.
Young moved that Bill No. 206-6-A being bill amending Ordinance
No. 206-5, be placed an its first reading, seconded by Layton, the

Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 206-6-A
was accordingly read.
Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-6- A be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye= Shelton-aye;

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-6-A be
placed on its third reading and lupon passage of same become Ord. No.
206-6-A, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and votes were as

Young-aye; Bill Nol 206-6-A was accordingly read, approved by Mayor
Filger and became Ord. No. 206-6-A.
Young moved that Bill No. 206-7-A being bill amdnding Ordinance
No. 206-7, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Layton, the

was accordingly rend.
Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-7-A be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-alpe~nt; Young-aye; Bill No. 206-7-A was accordingly
read.
Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 206-7-A be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance No.
206,E-A, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; SheltonAaye; Layton-aye; Swetnampabepnt;
Young-aye; Bill No. 206-7-A was accordingly read, approved by Mayor
Filger and became Ordinance No. 206-7-A.
Mr. Myers stated that he had a cone test made on Hermosa Dive
and stated that it showed one place 2" gravel, one place 12" and
another place 14" and another 1" and stated would have to figure
on the full 6" of gravel on repaving the street. Mr. Myers also
obtained a copy of the contract the owner had with Hardy, and read
same to the council. He stated that Hardy would also like to give
a bid on the road to repave it.
Mr. Myers stated that Mr. Bishop used 46,000 gallons of water
during the first month they were on sewers of Kansas City; and also
stated that Missouri Cities water company would not do the collecting
dor the City, however they will furnish us wish the gallonage of water
used by the individuals hooked into sewers.
_ Shelton moved that Bill No. 343-6 being bill providing for
the establishing a sewer District to be known as Sewer District
Number one in the pity of Riverside and prescribing the boundaries
thereof be placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll
was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No.343-6 was accordingly
read.

Shelton moved that Bill No. 343-7 being bill providing for the
establishing a sewer District to be known as Sewer District Number Two
in the City of Riverside and p~scribing the boundaries thereof be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-a~egnt; Young-aye; Bill No. 343-7 was accordingly
read .
Shelton moved that Bill No. 343-8 being bill providing for the
establishing a sewer District to be known as Sewer District Number Three
in the City of Riverside and prescribing the boundaries thereof be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was caked
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 343-$8was accordingly
read.
Shelton maed that Bill No. 343-9 being bill providing for the
establishing a sewer District to be known as Sewer District Number Four
in the City of Riverside and prescribing the boundaries thereof be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm,aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 343-~ was accordingly
read.
Shelton moved that Bill No. 343-10 being bill providing for the
establishing a sewer Districtl~o be known as Sewer District Number Five
in the City of Riverside and prescribing the boundaries thereof be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 343-10 was accordingly
read.
Shelton moved that Bill No. 343-11 being bill forming point
sewer District A, composed of sewer District Number one, Sewer District
Number Two, Sewer District Number Three, Sewer District Number Four
and Sewer District Number Five, and providing for the peparation
of plans, specifications and estimates of costs by the Acting City
Engineer for the construction of a ,joint interceptor sewer in said
Districts, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll
was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye;
Layton-aye; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. 343-11
was accordingly read.
Shelton moved that Bill No. D-68-1 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside
for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed
on its first reading, seconded by Layton, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Shelton-aye; Layton-aye;
Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. D-68-1 was accordingly read.
Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-68-1 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by Layton, the roll ~s called and votes
were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye; Shelton-aye

Layton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-68-1 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become
Ordinance No. D-68-1, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Klamm-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. D-68-1 was accordingly
read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-68-1.
No further business, meeting adjourned.
