A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Rivers3d;, Missouri, on Sept. 1„
1;67, at X7:30 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Eskridge, Shelton,
Swetnam, and Young were present, Clark absent and Layton absent.
Minutes of re,;ular meeting of Sept. 5, 1;67 were read and accepted
as read. Treasurer*s report for month of August, 167, was read and
accepted.
Blanche Fiber presented applicati;n for license to dispense
beer at the White Cit;; Delecatessen. Swetnam moved that we approve
Mr. Ammel's applicat~n for green hose, seconded by Shelton.. the
roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye;
Layton-absent; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye.
The Highway Department representatives were here advisin they
wanted to receive the signed contract with the City for the Highway,
and if there was something in the contract the Cit; wanted changed
or disagreed with, they w~ted to know and perhaps get the matters
worked out. The Highway Department wanted the Vandepopulier Road
dedicated so that they wouldn't spend the money for the overpass
and then a road not be made underneath, they also said if the City
would give the State Highway a commitment that they were going to
make Highdrive wider, they would also make the overpass wider, as it
now stands the spand would be for a 2~ foot road. Mayor Filger stated
they w.>>uld meet with the Highway Department and work out these thinga
Also Norwood mad was drought up and Swetnam stated he had gotten
up a petit~n quite a while back and presented it to the Highway
department and the Highway Department stated theta would not close
the road.
Swetnam moved that we approve Dominic H Meesina's application
for drive in food place, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-absnet; Eskridge-aye; Layton-aye;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-ayel Young-aye.
Shelton moved that we ha a E. I. Meyers draw up specifications
for the road in 7 Oaks Addition and get bids on the road, Swetnam seconded
the motion, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent
Eskridge-aye; Layton-absent; Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye.
May_;r Filger anoun ed there would be a special meeting on
Friday, September 22, 1y67, at 7:00 p.m.
It was decided tc ha~;e the Attorney draw up an ordinance on
Weed control and that they weeds and trees should be cut 50' back
from the road.
Swetnam mo ed that Bill No. D-67-17 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money cut of the general fund of the City cf Riverside
be paced on its first reading, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called
and ~,~otes were as fellows: Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye; Layton-absent;
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-ay;e; Young-aye; Bill No. D-67-17 was accordingly
read.

Shelton moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-67-17
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye; Layta~absent
Shelton-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. D-67-17 was accordingly
read.
Swetnam mo ed that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-67-17 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance
No. D-67-17, seconded by Shelton, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye; Shelton-aye; Layton-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Yuung-aye; Bill N~. D-67-17 was accordingly read, approved
by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D,~f67-17.
