HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-03-21Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen City of Riverside, Missouri March 21, 1967 A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the city of Riverside, Missouri, in the City Hall on March 21, 1967,_at 7:30 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Eskridge, Clark, Swetnam and Young were present, Brenner and Layton absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of March 7, 1867, were read and accepted as read. collector*s report for month of February, 1967 was read and accepted. Mr. Taylor inquired with regard to having a trailer for an office in Riverside, Missouri, and he was advised that the only time a tracer could be had at a business place was where it was for watchman purpose and that the business had to furnish the trailer and all utilities for the tracer and watchman. Mr. Kalivan inquired with regard to having Mandan Road repaired and make it passable at all times as he stated he wanted to start another apartment project, -- ten buildings 108 apartments, nine of the building for apartments and the one building as a Club House. It was suggested that Mr. Myers look over the road situation. Clark moved that we accept Wm. Kalivas application for the apartment project, seconded by Eskridge, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-absent; Eskridge-aye; Clark-ale; Layton absnet; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye. Young proposed that we have an ordinance drawn up that all apartments and housing units have a minimum parking space--two parking spaces for each unit-- anything with less than this parking space will be subject to the council's approval, seconded by Swetnam the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-ale; Brenner-absent; Eskridge-aye; Layton-absent; Swetnmm-aye; Young-aye. Young also suggested that we have an ordinance amending the cost of permits for constructing business buildings, not having a maximum, and that the cost be $2.00 per thousand, minimum of $25.00 and that also the ordinance take care of fines and arrests to be made for persons giving false inforrmtion on the building applications, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Layton-ap~ent; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye. It was also suggested that Mr. Dorsey prepare another ordinance with regard to burning trash and haveing trash burners with covers only, that on windy days that it not be permissible to burn trash, similar to restrictions Kansas City has on windy days. Young moved that Bill No. 333-15 being bill setting forth the time of the general election and the fudges and amount being paid to same be placed on its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Layton-absent; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; bill No. 333-15 was accordingly read. Swetnam mo$d that rules be suspended and Bill No. 333-15 be placed on -~~ts second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-absent; ®rk-aye; Eskridge-aye; Layton absent; Young-aye; Swetnam-aye; Bill No. 333-15 was accordingly read.
