November 1, 1966
A regular meeting of the Board of Al.~iermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on November 1,
1966, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Brenner, Clark, Eskridge
Layton and Swetnam were present, Young absent this portion of meeting and
Mayor Filger salling said m~~etint; to order.
Minutes of Meetine; of Octooer 18, 1966, were read and accepted as
read.
r'r. iIon requested permit to put up a sign advertising his apartments
and upon motion by Brenner and seconded by Eskridge that such permission be
given sub3ect to his obtaining permit from the owner of the property, the
roll was called and votes were as follows Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskride-aye;
Layton-aye; Sw~tnam-aye; and Young-absent.

Community, none. All the equipment the individual needs, is paid f or i~/2
by the person or volunteer. The different co~nunities in the d strict are
Lake Wakomus, t'a atherby, Northmoore, Platte Woods Waldron, Farley and Riverside,
The Council of ~iiverside requested the Community Fire Departr;~ent to obtain
a list of the persons who have aid their dies and thenperhaps something
could be worked out Thom there. To date it appears thrt P~.rkville contributed
$6500.00 to their fire department and ~p5,Ci00 contributed by community, of this
amount it appe~rred Riverside contributed L}0~. {~ ,~, ~~s<-•~-w-~
Mr. Dave Clayton asked permission to seek information $omgthe Treadurer
and Collector 3.~[a to enable him to present an estimate to audi8 the City of
Riverside Books and he was given this permission.
Mr. Myers spoke with regard the the sewers in Riverside, He stated that Nlr.
Buford hhs made 50 drawl_ng of different areas in 'latte County and that hte
ttants to sellthe maps for 1300.00, that is 13 maps of dif"e rent aree~s in River-
side. He says these mapsw ill save him lots of extra work and will enable him
to proceed f~sterwith the sewer districts he isworkinr; on. Iie has tentative
drawings of the three districts and that Indian hills wiJ_1 be another district.
~:ie also menti~~ned that Kan:::as City would probably put in the sewer in Jumping
Branch, as they will need the sewer 3!~j~deep whereas riverside would only need
it 10' deep. Mostly what is neeessary now would be to see how the City would
finance the protect and then hewould be axle to place the matter for bids very
short. There ass a;broximutely a little un.~er 2,000 ft. of sewer to build.
The City of Kansas City did not provide for a aornnection :r'or Manhole No. 10
and the city would have to pay the cost of connecting therein, this was
approxim~:el~ 30 feet deep.
Mr. Dorseyibrought up the matter of the con~,roversy of Larson Ro~~d
and that Wales and Buford would protect and save harraess the City of Riverside
from all costs and expenses in obtaining the 30 ft right of way on L:.rson Road
even if condemnation of the property were necessary and Mr. Dorsey requested
permission to make the investigation and all work necess ry to secure the
right of way at no cost to the City.
Clark moved that Mr. Dorsey be given p~rn~ission to start the inaestigatio~
and to see if it is legal to set up a special benefit district to pay the
costs of condemnation of part of Larson Road, if necessary and at no cost
to the City of Riverside, Missouri, seconded by Brenner, the roll w as called
and all voted in favor.
Bren~~er moved that the City Purchade the 13 maps requested by Engineer
P'Iyers at the cost of 1300.00 and that the cost be proportionately prorate
or bea bsorbed in the cost of sewer installation, seconded by Swetna, the roll
was oiled and all voted in favor.
Mrs ^reen requested permission to rebuild 22 new spaces for her
trailer court, after t~ discussi n was had, it was d ecided that P~`Ir. Dorsey
would advise all necessary things to be secured before such permission co~hld
be ~ranted~ and that the police department would inv8stigatlaesa to see

if there were any vio]a tions of the ordinances. Also the City needs copy of
the plans proposed,~or the new locations of the court.

Swetnam moved that Mr. Senekerfs recommendation that Llgryd dyers
salary beincreased from ~LE00. 0 to tyI~50.00 per month b e a ccpeted, to be
c:;me effective November 1, 1966, Brenner seconded the motion, the roll

Swetnam mo-ed that Bill No. D-66-19 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the gene?a 1 fund of the City of Riverside,
Missouri for the pay mento8 certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed
on its 8~rst reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and v otes were
as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Layton-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-ale, Bil1PIo. D-66-19 was accordingly read.
Swetnam mov d that rules be suspended and bill No. D-66-19 be placed
n its second reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was call d and the votes

Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and ~i11No. D-66-19 be placed on
its third reading and upon passage of same become Or°d. No. D-66019, eeconded
by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-a6e;
Clark-sye; Eskridbg-aye; Layton-aye;: Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. D-66-19
was accordingly read, a proved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-~~6-19.
Brenner moved meeting adjoidnr, seconded by Lagrto~, meeting adjourned.
