A regular meeting of The Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Miss~u i8w~ hemd in the City Hall in Riverside, N;issouri on September 6,
1966 ~~d i~ ~npA roll call, Aldermen Clark, Brenner, Tskridge, Layton,
Swetnam and Young were present, Mayor Filger cal ling said meeting to order.
Minutes of meeting of August 16, 1966, were r:.ad and accepted as
read. Collectors report for month of August, 1966 wa<: read anda ccepted.
NIr. Cloud stated that they were still having the problem with
the road by their house in Indian :-sills, Circi~ Drive. It was decided to
have Mr. Myers look over the road to see how it could be fixed properly.
Engineer Myers reported on his getting the preliminary informa-:ion
and reaport on the overall sewer s;rstem through $iverside. He stated they
a special meeting was held in P-Ir. Dorsey s :ffice and that he had gotten
his report to Jefferson City and also Jefferson City r eplied that they would
look over the pla ns and will forward their comments at a later date.
Myers advised there were two very urgent matters to c ~nsider. One being
the tie in sewer from Cliff View Drive over to the 72 interceptor where
Kanas City is Building, in order to handle the ss~itary flow from the
apartment complexes. The olhher matter is Highway 635, from the north is
going to cut across the Jumpin Branch Chdek where the sewer line will
have to cross and that if it is not put in at the time the highway is
built, it will cost consi:er~bly more to do this work. With regard to
the financing of this project, he advised it was up to IDttorney Dorsey
to in-~estigate the matter and w e would receive his views. With regard
to the sewer down Jumpin Branch, Myers advised that this sewer would
serve Houston Lake and a large acreage of Kansas City. He had discussed
this matter with Kansas City and Kan :-s City advised the; they had no
intention of putting the swerr down this Creek, that they intaded to put
in a pumping station which would cost considerably more than going down
Jumpin =ranch, Mr. Myers, however, thought that Kansas City would probably
change their mind and connect into this sewer. If Houston and Kansas City
want to hood in the sewer, the pipe would have to be larger, however, since
th`s is such a steep grade, the pipe would not have to be too large.
Mr. Myers estimated that the sewer to hook in Cliff View l~perbment Complexes
would cost in the vicinit of X33,500. Mr. N`yers t ozght the Jumpin Branch
would cost s--proximately 83,000. Stated this amounted to about 16.80 per
lineal foot of sewer. However this would not include the larger pipe if
Kansas City wanted to hoop in, in this case, it would cost someehwere
from 3.00 to !x.00 more, or X19.00 to L0.00 per lineal foot. It was Mr. rivers
su-;gestion to contact Huston Lake and Kansas City to see if they would want
to hook into the line. Kansas City has 850 acres which would b e in this
sewer area, Riverside has X30 acres and Houston lake 61 acres.
