HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-04-05Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board oi' Aldermen of City of Riverside, April 5, 1966 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of The City of Riverside, Missouri ~~as held in the City Hailon April. 5,1966, at t3: 00 p.m. a nd upon a roll call, aldermen Brenner, Clark, Eskridge, Majors, Swetnam and Young were present. Minutes of regular meeting oi' March 15, 1966, were read and accepted as read. Treasurer's report for the month of Niarch, 1966 was reed and Collector's report f CD month of March was read and both accepted as read. Mr. Austin, of the iDonnley Foundation spoke with regard to the hospital being put in Riverside and wanted to know tf the City would approve the Hospital and go along with it, and not protest their building the hospital, and upon a motion by Brenner that Mr. Do rsey draw up a letter that Riverside would be in favor of Riverside County Hospital for Mr. Austin, Clark seconded the motion, the roll was called and all voted ~n favor with the exception of Swetnam and would like to Have Mr. Dorsey check in this matter and if it is in order than Swetnam vctea in favor. Swetnam moved that the City approve The Platter of Chimes ~_..~ Garden, an addition to EastSlope Cemetery, that this be bi11No. 354 and it be placed on its first reading, scconded by Brenner, the Poll was c slled and notes were a s follows: Brenner-eye; Clark-eye; Eskridge-eye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-eye; Yount-;-aye; Bill No. 354 gas accordingly read. Eskridge moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 3S4 be placed onits second reading, seconded by Majors, the roll was called ant votes were as follows: Brenner-sye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-s be; rjajors-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. 354 was accordingly read. Cla rk moved that rules be suspended andBill No. 354 be placed on its third reading and aupon passage of same become Ord. No. 3~4, seconded by Brenner-tea ~oabT was cal led and votes were as fo~~lowa; Brenner-eye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-sye; Majors-aye Swetnam-sve; and Young-eye; Bill No. 351} uas accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. 354• W. B rapper moved that we a daept L. W. Odle Building application on Lot 22, in Indian Hillsi seconded by Swetnam, the roll was c gilled andvotes w ere as follows: Brenner-eye; Clark aye; Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-s ye; and Yong-s ye; Majors-aye; Swetnam moved that Mr. Dorsepi notify Flash Market and the owner of the property Mr. Boston Esley to clean up the place and for Moore to clean up his place of business, seconded by Eskridge, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young asked that the council give him permission not to vote, even though he felt it the duty of every Alderman to vote each time, he felt that since he had property which needed putting in order that he should be excused. Warren Brenner moved that the City see about installing three mercury lights around the City Hall building, seconded by Sw~nam, the roll was called and all voted in favor. Swetnam moved that Bill No. 333-14 being bill providing for the canvassing the return of the election by the Judges and issuing certificates for qualified offices, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Brenner moved that rules be suspended azd Bill No. 333-14 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were ss follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-a6e; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Page 2, Minutes of Reg. Meeting _ ~~~~ of Board of Aldermen, Riverside, Mo. ~v'~ Majors moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 333-14 be placed on its third readiig and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 333-14, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Y ung-aye; Brenner moved that Bill No. 66-6 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of cert~n indebtendess as listed therein be placed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Swetnam- the mll was called and votes were as follows: Benner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Y ung aye Rules be suspended and Eskridge moved that/Bill No. 66-6 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye, Bill No. 66-6 was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 66-6 be paced on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 66-6, seconded by Majors, the roll was called and votes were as follows: BrennerQaye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye/ Bill No. 66-6 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. 66-6. Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Majors, meeting ad ,journed . Minutes read and approved as read this ~~ day of April, 1966. _~~ _ Mayor
