A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the city hall in Riverside, r2iseouri on December'~7,
1965, at tS:OU p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Brenner, Eskridge,
Majors and Swetnam were present, Young and Clerk absent and Mayor
Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of meeting of November 16, 1965, were read and
accepted as read. Collector's and Treasurer's reports Yor month
of No~~ember and October respectively, X965 were read and accepted
as read.

John Blogin, Chairman of Zoning Board reported he received
a request from H. Bruce Crrimea to rezone his property in Eiverside
just north ox~ the Junction ox' 71 and 45 highways, from its present
zoning, retail business to light and heavy inQustry. He also stated
he thought it would be useless to havethe hearing as he thought this
parti.cula r property at the location should not be zoned for light
and heavy incustry andthat it would serve no purpose to have the
hearing and wanted to know the thoughts or the council. After a
discussion was had and Mr. Grimes thought over the situation more,
he decided to withdraw his request.
W. Brenner moved that the City accept the platte of Indian
Hills Annex and that same be isill No. 35z and he placed on its first
reading, seconded by Eskridge, the roll was called and votes ware as
follows: Bru per-aye; Clar k-absent; Exkridge-aye; Majors-eye; 5wetnam-
aiye; Young-absnnt, and Bill No. 352 was accordingly read.

seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
Brenner-aye; Clark-absent; Majors-aye; Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; and
Young-absent; Bill T?o. 352 was accordingly.
Brenner moved that r~zles be suspended and Bill No. 35~ be
placed on its third reading and uponpassage or same become Ord. No. 35~,
seconded by Nia jors, the roll was c el]e d and votes were as follows:

=oung-absent, Bill nTO. 352was accordingly read, approved by N:ayor
Filger and became Ord. No. 352.
Majors moved that the City accept the application of
`~ Kansas City rower. ~ Light Company for installing its transformers,
seconded by Swetnam, the ro!_1 was called and votes were as follows:
Brenner-aye; dark-absent; Eskridge-aye; ~'lajors-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-a~emnt.
Seneker reported that Joe :harp resigned and is now working
~'or North Kanas City rolice; that Englehart has been taxing his place
and would like permission to payrrhim ~2.U0 per hour, as that is
approximate what Sharp would make; that he h~~d three applicants for
Sharp's po~~ti:~n--Lea Blankenship, 'Thomas Six and Lloyai~iyers.
Lee Blankenship was in hospital; Thomas Six was still running a restaurant
and Lloyd Myers aes an ex-marine and retired, and thought hew ould make
e good officer.
Majors moved that the City hire Mr. rivers on the basis of
X2.)0 per hour while on probation or until 15th ox' December, and after
and if he completes his probation eriod satisfactory, that he be put
on s trai ht salary at the rate of 4u0.U0 per month and that Englehart
be paid 2.00 per hour until the end of vecember, 1965, seconded by

Seneker reported that they received two bids on police car and

Majors moved that we purchase the auto f'ron Jerry Green and have
them transfer the equipment, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called
and vote- were as follows: Brenner-eye; Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Majors-aye; Young-absent
Swetnam moved that Bill 1Vo. L-65-2U being bill providing for the
apr:ropriatin of money out of the general fund of t he city of
Ri~~ersid e, Missouri for the payment of c attain indebtedness as listed
therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll
was called and votes were asf ollowa: Fsrenner-aye; Clark-absent;
Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Setnam-aye; Young-absent; Bill No. D-65-2U
