HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-10-05Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri October 5, 1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on October 5, 1965, at 8:00 pm and upon a roll call, aldermen Clark, Eskridge, Majors and Young weE present, Brenner and Swetnam, absent ad Mayor Filer calling said meeting to order. Minutes of September 7, 1965, and September 21, 1965, were read and accdpted. Collector*s report for month of September, 1965, was read and accepted. Mr. McGuire of Riverside Body Shop inquired if there could be something dc;ne about the water coming off the road on the lest Entrance to Indian Hills Addition, as this water was running and flooding his place. It was suggested that the City Engineer look over this matter and ad ise what could be cone. Young reported that Clarence Renner _alled and advised that the road torDreen's Trailer Court was on the Clarence Renner property and it was suggested that before we do anything more to the road that it be definitely established where the road raa~x right of way is, and that Mr. Myers also look at this road when tDe looks at the Indian Hills road. Young moved that the City purchase a wheel to measure distances at the approximate cost of $34.75, seconded by Majors, the roll was called and the votes rare as follows: Brenner, a~raent; Clark,aye; Eskridge,aye; Ma,jmrs,aye; Swetnam-absent and Young-aye. Clark moved that the city approve the budding application for serve it yourself gasoline station on a temporary basis, subject to plane being presented and approved by an engineer, architect, etc. seconded by Eskridge, the roll was called and votes were askfollows: Brenner-absent; Clark-ale; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye. Young moved that we make the resolution regarding the street to Wales and Webb project subject to Wales and Webb taking full ~iuaa~xf3ax financial responsibility of completing the road to the City Engineer's specificiatins and satisfaction and providing the Eity of Riverside with the bond for the construction of the road in the amo::nt as required by ordinance., seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-absent Young-aye. Majors mo~,ed that we adopt the resolution in conjunction with Kansas City, Missour in order to condemn the property of Kalivas and Eontinential Oil C mpany Property for the pl~rpose of construction of the sewer line, seconded by Exkridge, the roll was called and votes were as follows: $rennera-abesnt; Cork- aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-a~asent; Young-aye. Seneker requestedkpermissi;~n to purchase letterhead and envelopes with the Police Department name on them, and he was authorized to do so. Clark moved that Bill No. D-65-17 being bill providing for the appropri- ation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed thereinbe placedon its first reading, seconded by Eskridge, the roll was called and votes were as follows; Brenner-absent; Clark-a~ie; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-absent; young-aye; and Bill No. D-65-17bwas accordingly read. Majors moed that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-17 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes wereas follows: Brenner-dga^¢ Clark aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-ay Bill No. D-65-17 was accordingly read. Eskridge moved thatla~ules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-17 be placed on its third reading, and if same be pissed it become Ord. No. D-65-17, seconded by Majors, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aj~s~nt; Clark aye; Eskridge-aye; Na,jors-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; bill N.o. D-65-17bwas accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord.NO.
