A regular meeting of the Board of Ald ermen ofCity of Riverside,
N~issouri was held in the City ~jall onAugust 3,1965, at 8:00 p.m.
and upon a roll call, Aldermen Brenner, Eskridge, Majors, Swetnam
and Young were present, Clark a~eent and N'ayor Filger calling said
meeting to order.

Pfiinutes of meeting of July ~@, 1965, were read and accepted
Swetnam moved that Bill No. 255-L} bein~2bi11 requiring permi_~S for
installation of pipe lines in the City, providing for applications
therefor and information thereon, terms and conditions of issuance
fees, therefor and penalty for biolations be placed on its first reading,
seconded by Brenner, the roil was called and votes were as follows:
Brenner-aye; Clarkoabsent; Niajors-aye; Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; and
Young-aye; Bill Nol 255-4 was accordingly redd.
Brenner moved that rules be s uupended and Bill No. 255-4 be
placed on its second rc=ading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-absent;Lskridge-aye;
Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; `Loung-aye; and Bill No. 255-1} was accordingly
read.
Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 255-1} be

seconded by Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follow s:

N:ayor Filger and became Ordinance No. 255-~•
Mr. Meyers said he talked to Skelly people and that they
are getting a 10 ft, strip of ground along I`~attox Road and they will
put their pipeline on this and will dedicate the property to the City
to ;Hake the road wider. Nir. N~yers also stated that the State :3ighway
department wants to have only one overpass for I635, the Highway or
Vandepopulier and the railroad to use the same underpass. The RRdid
not like this too well.
Mr. Myers s~~d that there is a controversy o~;er the
Vandepopulier toed, on certain surveys there is a straight road on the
section line and on others there is curve ~n it. However it was sugt,ested
that the curve be left in it until writtena pproval was obtained from
Nir. Small to straighten it out and that the easement be obtained from
him for the present way the road is.
Mr. Myers and P•7r. ~orse,-~ are still working on the s ecuring
of 1'0 ft right of way on iandepopulier road.
The people from Wales and vaebb.8onstruction Company
stated they have a proplem with reEard to the road and the loan company
on their project of Cliff View P48noc apaprtments and the nursing home.
Stated the loan company wants the street to be public and the City
take them over however, this cannot be a]one until they are properly
completed and approved by Payers. This cannot be done as there is
a controversy between the owner of theland on the south side of
Larson road and 4tales and Webb constructs..n company. However, this
matter w a s to b e worked out between the private p~ roes.
Swetnam moved that the Merrimac Road be graded, seconded By Brenner,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clar k-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Young-aye.
Brenner moved that the remodeling application for houseb e
accepted, same presented by Mr.C ollier, seconded by Swetnam, the roll
was called and voter were as follows: Brenner-eye; Clark-absent;
Eskridge-aye; Swetnan.-eye; Niajors-aye; Young-a,ye.
Niajors moved that t he council amend the ordinance regg~ding
parking peaces for vehicles at apartment buildings in Riverside, to
be increased to two parking spaces per unit, instead of the 1-1/2,
seconded by Swetnam, the roll was cane d and votes were as follows:
Brenner-aye; Clark-absent; Exkridege-aye; Majors-eye; Swetnam-a}*e;

Swetnam moved that Bill No. 351 being bill providing and
authorizing the T~Tayor to enter S_nto contract with Ba~ k of Riverside
for disposition of funds of City in "Time Deposit" and prescribing
terms and form of such contract, seconded by Brenner, the ro7.1 wasc ailed
and votes we?e as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-absent; Eskridge-aye;
Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 351 was accordingly
read. Swetnammoved that rules be suspended and Bill I3o. 351 be placed on
its second reading, seconded by Majors-the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-sbsent; Eskridge-aye; I`~ajors-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-age; and Bill Tdo. 351 was accordingly read.
Eskridge moved that rules be s uspended and Bill TT,o. 351 be
placed oh its third readings nd upon passage of same become Ordinance
No. 351, seconded by Majors, the roll was called andvotes were Ps follaas:

Young-aye; Bill Tdo. 351 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger
and became Ord. No. 351.
