HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-07-06Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board oP Ali ermen of City o f Riverside, Missouri July 6,1965 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside Missouri was held in the City Hall on July 6,1965, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Brenner Clark, Eskridge, Majors Swetnar; and Young were present, Mayor ~'iJ.ger c ailing said meeting to order. Minutes of regular meeting of June 15, 1965, were read and accepted as read. Collectors report of June, 1965, was read and accepted. David Brenner inc}uired regarding the lots in Indian Hills and the road situation. Mr. Booth Bill for road service dated July 6,1965, in the sum of ~2l}.03 was approved to send to the special Road District for payment. Majors moved that Asst. Chief of Police Seneker~s request of July 6, 1 965, i.e. that Mrs. Betty Hedgecock, Cler]F of Police Court be given a commission to search femaAe prisoners (for no extra compensation); that Thomas Six be transferred tot he status of part-time paid officer; and thatTerry Deister be appointed to reserve brahcn. seconded by Cla m, the roll w as called and notes were as follows: Brenner passed, his reason being that he knew neither of these people; that he heard someone was illegally writing tickets and some otherthin~s and that he could not get a policeman when he tried to call one; lark ~r~ax aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors aye; Swetnam -aye; and Young-aye. i y The matter of getting a d ispatcher was discussed and was to b e looked into further. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-65-12 being bill providing tnr the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri f o r the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, secon ed by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Brenner-eye; Clark-eye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-s ye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bi11No. D-65-12 was accordingly read. rules be suspended and Swetnam moved that/Bill No. D-65-12 be placed on its second __ reading, seconded by Brenner, the roll was c ailed and votes were as follows: Hrenner-aye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bi11No. D-65-12 was accordingly read. Clark mov d that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-12 be placed on its thiri ]®ding and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. D-65-12,seeonded by Majors, the roll was called and votes ware as follows: Brenner-eye; Clark-ape; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Eskridge-eye; and Young-aye; Bill No. D-65-12 wsa a ccordingly read approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. D-65-12. Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Clark, meeting adjourned. A petition was received from a number of business people and residents regarding the problem of drainage at the intersection of Highways No. 45 and U. S . 71 and it w as suggetted to send tti a to the Missouri State Highw-y Department. Minutes read and approved as read this day of July, 1 965.
