A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of R~erside,
~- Mi~:souri was held in the City Hall in Riverside,Missouri onl~;ay 18,
1965, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Majors, Eskridge,
Swetnam and Young were present, WA la~~n~~~g~~gent for roll call and
andpresent remainder of meeting, eyor get calling said meeting to
order and
Mr. Davis representing the Youth Center read a lettor from
said Board of Directors of Young American Youth Center, signed by
John W. Fowler, dated Mey 16, 1965, setting forth rules and regulations
wt~ch they would like to agree upon and the City to also approve of same.
The Council advised they would stgcdy thesefurther and advise them later.
Mr. Ernest Renner wanted to know if the city would object to
a building being built on River Road, not fac~inp the highwey and
said building being built out of Enameled Steel, the council~hadno
objections so 1on~ as it was within zoning (the business theb_.uilding
was to be used for) and that it did not turn out to be a dump.
N1r. Hon wanted to know if the building pe rmit he received
last winder could be extended another 60 days, and the coulcil had
no objections.
Majors moved that the City ha~,= Nir. llorsey draw up petition
to be signed by the people or citizens of Riverside complaining
of the smoke, and contamination of the air by the burning of the
durr,p in Fairfax District along the river, and after. getting the
petitit~naba~k, have the people sign it and then return it to
~~ir. Dorsey to write a letter and send it to the County Court and
notify the state of the complaint and the state will carry it orj
from there, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: 1d.Brenner-aye; Clark-absent; Majors-aye; Eskridge-aye;
Swetnam-aye; and Younggaye.
Swetnam moved that Mr. Snoden~s building ~pplidation for house
be approved, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes
were asf ol]_ows: W. Brener~sye; Clark-absent; Mafors-aye; Eskridge-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye.
A recess of 10 minutes was granted.
The meeting r econveblened and upon a roll call, A]cbrmen W. Brenner-
Majors; Swetnam; Eskridge and Young present, Clark absent a:r3 Mayor Filger
presiding over remainder of meeting.
Young moved that The City Give Douglas Seneker a ~30.U0 per month
increase in salary; that same be retroactive six months, seconded by Swet-
nam, the roll was called and votes w~ as follows: W. Brenner-aye;
Clark-absent; Majorstaye; Swetnam-eye; Eskridge-aye; Young-aye;
Swetnam moved that Bill D?o. 171-3 being bill repealing ordinance
D?o. 171-2 and in lieu thereof this bill, regarding regulates and perm9ts
to be obr.ained for camper trailers, etc. seconded by N'!a jors, the roll was
called and votes were as f ollows: Brenner-Fye; Clark-absent; ~'~a jors-aye;
Eskridge-ay®; Swetnam-aye; and Young-Aye; Bill No. 171-3 was accordingly
read.
Majors moved that rule: bes uspended and Bill No. 171-3 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by Swetna~p, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clark-absent; N~ajors-aye; =Eskridge-aye;
Swetnam aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 171-3 was accordingly read.
Brenner moved that tales be s uspended and Bill No. 171-3 be placed on
its third reading and upon passage of same it become Ordinance No. l~l-3,
- seconded by Majors, the ro1.l was called and votes were as follows:

W. L~renner moved that Bill P?o. D-65-g being bill providing for
r:inutes of Reg. Meeting

the ap propriation of money out of the gene rat fund of the 6ity of
Riverside for the payment ofcertain indebtedness as listed therein
be placed on its first reading, seconded by Eskridge, the roll w as
dglle d and votes were as follows: hrenner-ale; Majors-eye; Clark-absent;
Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; Y ung«eye; Bill No. ~-65-9 was accordingly
read.
Eskridge moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-9 be
pal ced on its second reading, seconded by Brenner- the roll was callled
and votes were as follows: Brenner-aye; Clrr~-absent; Eskridge-aye;
rlajors-aye; Swetneotn~aye; Young-aye; bill no. D-65-q was accordingly
read.
Swetnam moved that rulesoe suspended and Bill No. l9-65-q be placed
on its thirel reading and upon passA~;e of same become Ord. No. D-65-q,
seconded by ra jots, the roll was cal]e d and votes were a s f ollows:
Brenner-aye; Clerk-absent; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Eskridge-aye;
Young-aye; and Bill r'o. D-65-q was accordingly read, ~ proved by
i"layor Filger and became ord. No. D-65-q.
