A regular meeting of the board of Aldermen of City of
Riverside, Mi souri was held in the city Hall on May !}, 1965,
at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen Majors, Swetnam,
Eskridge and Young were present, W. Brenner and Clark Absent,
Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of regular n;eeting of April 20, 1965 were read
and accepted as read after correcting that portion regardingthe
dances at the Youth Center to read as f ollows: W. Brennermoved
that the ordinance be changed to have only one policeman (privately
hired) to stay on the outside of the buildings and that the Youth
Center to pay 1.00 per hour for the policeman and the City willpay
the Policeman the other 1.00 per hour, making the wages of the
policeman X2,00 per hour, this to be on a trial basis and applying
only to the Youth Center where teen age dances are open to the
public for an admission and for profit making.
Collectors report and Treasurer's report were read and
aeo~ted as read, these for themonth of April, 19b5•
Swetnam moved that the Citty approve the Application of
Blanche Filger for a Cocktail Lounge in White City Hotel,
subject to the approval of the records of the FBI, seconded by
Eskridge, the roll wa s ca lied and votes were as follows: W. Brenner-
absent; C]€ rk-absent; Majors-aye; Esridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; and
Young-a ~~=e .
The Party who has the Car Wash in Rberside and wanted to
installs serve it yourself gas:~line statim inquired regarding the
rest room facilities and inquir d if it would be satisfactory if
they used the same rest room facilities as there only that the
key wo.ild be at the house north of the car wash place and people
could obtain it from them. However, the council did not think this
would work and the party was to bring back the cost of such remodeling
at the next meeting.
A letter lass received from Lucille Edwards and Harry C. Edwards
giving notice that theyintend to build a trailer park in the bottoms,
south of the CB&9(, HeiiPoeddtracks.
Young moved th„t we3sgsue permit to Mr. KalivaH for swirru:;ing
pool subject to his obtaining ap;~;roval from the County and Health
Bepa anent, seconded by Majors, the ro.l was called and votes were
as follows: W. Brenner-absent; Clarlt-absent; Majors-eye; Eskridge-aye;
Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.
Majors moved that we approve two building permits from
Donald Morris and Gilbert Stewart, Bi7i3~A~i4~Tl subject to Mr. Charles
approval on the septeic syshem and Mr. Dorsey approval on the Road
with the Title Company, seconded by Eskridge, the ro]_1 was called and
votes were as follows: Id.Brenner-absent; dark-absent; Ma jorrs-aye;
Eskridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.

Majors moved that the city purchase 9 shirts, 9~trousers
2 caps, 2 sets of collar insignias, 1 pair winter trousers and
six emblems for the a-~proximate total cost of 290.50, seconded
by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: W-Hrenner-
absent; Clark-abse:L t; Majors-aye; r,skridge-eye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye;
Majors moved that Bill No. D-65-8 being bill providing for the
appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside,
Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Eskridge, the roll was cal led s~
d votes were as follows:W.Brenner-a1~C]~k-absent; Majss-aye; Eskridge-
aye; Swetnam-eye; Young-aye; Bi"11 Ido. D-65-8 was accordingly read.
Eskridge moved that rules be suspended and Bill Iv'o.D-65-8 be pla-
ced on its econd reading, seconded by Majors, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Yd.Brenner-absent; Clams -absent; Nis fors-aye; Esk-
ridge-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. D-65-8 was accordinggly read.
Swetnam moved that rules b e s us~ended and Bill No. D-65-8 b e
placed on its third reading and if same be passed it become Ord. No.

D-65-8, seconded by Nia joys, the roll was cal]e d and votes were as
follo~~s: W. Brenner-absent; Clark-absent; Ma joys-aye; Eskridge-aye;
Swetnarr-sye; Young-aye; and bill No. D-65-8 was accordingly r ead,
approved by Mayor F''ilger and became Ord. No. D -b5-8.
Swetram moved meeting adjourn, seconded by N~ajors, meeting
adjarned.
