Minutes of Regualr Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Mo. April 20, 1965 -~ A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Ball in Riverside, N;o., on April 20, 1965, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen W. Brenner absent for roll call, but pr esent remainder of meeting; Clark, Eskridge Majors Swetnam an d Young were present. Minutes of regub r meeting of April 6,1965, were read and accepted as read. Treasurer's report fon moht~O, of March, 1965, was read and Accepted as read. Two representatives of the Peav~ Company presented a pplication to construct facilities to load barges on the property at the River, near the East City Limits. Mr. Burrict~r and another gentlemen inquired with regard to having dances at the You~bh Center and the require ments of their having to have a policeman, one inside and the other one on the outside. After a lengthy discussion, W. Brenner moved that the ordinance be changed to have only one policeman (privately hired) to saty on the -~~, outside of the buildings and that the °Youth 8enter to pay ~]!JO per .hour for the policeman and the City ~rJill pay the Policeman the other~~/ ~1.~)O.per hour, making the waged of the policeman $2.00 per hour,-•; ll~p ;,this applying on~y to the Youth Center seconded by Clark, the roll `twas called and votes were as follows; All voted n favor. G~ ~' /Gl~~~ /~ ~,,- __ ~ ~z~~ ~ Major's moved that J e Sharp be give e X25.08 per month raise malting his monthly salary ~L}u0.00, the X25.00 being retroactive April 1, 1965 and that Richard Larson and Tom Six be Auxilary Reserve; that Hohimer be paid the X1.00 per hour reserve duty, seconded by Swetnam, the roll west ailed and all voted in favor. Majors moved that all police business be braght to the council; that any police business requiring special attention or private hearing or investigation be at turned over to the Police Committee for e r sport back to tho council at the next council meeting for action, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows; W. Brenner-ppss; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young aye;. ~ The matter of our trailer ordinance being out of dateand having it brought up tod ate was discussed. The matter of the street lights was brought up again and it was decided that all the council members should go around th© city ands ee just where the lights are needed. Swetnam moved that Wilber J. McWilliams business application and Peavey Company business application and bui,.ding application be approved; that Peavey Company will be advised of the an;ount of the business license just as soon agaan agreement is reached; t~¢axra~3xx$a seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were all in favor. W. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-65-7 iae placed on its first reading, said Bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the Genet»1 Fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein; seconded by Majors, the roll was called and votes were as f ollows;H-Brenner~waye; Clark-aye; Eskridge-aye; ft'Iajors-sye; Swetnam-eye; Young-aye; ~andBill Pdo. D-65-7 was accordingly read. '- Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-7 ~¢as „__ be placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll wQs called end votes were as follows: W.Brenner-aye; Clark-a(ye; Eskridge-sye; Majors- eye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-65-7 was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules b e s uspended and Bi11No. D-65-7 be placed on its third reading and upon passa~~e of same became Ord.
