A regular meeting of the Board of ~+ldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri, was held in the City H~~.11 in Riverside, on March 16, 1965,
at 8: ~0 p.m. and upon ,.. roll c•~:.11, =adermen H. Brenner; Clark;
S:vetnam ~znd Young were pP'esent; h~. Brenner :znd M~; jors t'~bsent and
Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
8inutes of March 2, 1965, were read a8d accepted as read.
itlr. Lel~rnd r'letcher, District Engineer cnd George ~atterl~e,
Eng. !sst., both of the Missouri SEzte Highsc.y Department advised they
would like to have the :agreement which they sent to Riverside, re-
g~rding the construction of highway in the City; and they .,could
like to work out ,.nything not agreeable if at all possible. Ho;aever
they stated they ~.~ould like to halve the signed agree,..ent so they could
st:xt construction by the last part of Mcy ...nd first of June, 1965.
They were advised the City urn.:~uld like to study the matter further.
Ray Tenley of Kansas City Po,:er & Light Company advised their
count r.ct *.aith the City had expired in r'ebru:ary, and they ;could like
to enter into another contract; howe8er they h~~.ve made another study
and they ~:ould like to recommend some chans;es in the lighting of
the streets in Riverside. They wouadllike to remove all the ald style
light bulbs •:wnd put in the Mercary design. They would also put in more
lights on highw y ~5 cznd 169-_36 :.dditionAl lights in all and the
cost would be ~y10.80 u.dditionally per ye:.rr, as the cost they =ire
now charging is higher and the rate h.As come down. The council
advised him that they would li ke to study this further.
H. Bra nne<~ moved that the Council accept Issther Flower, Inc. 's
business license applic-ztion, seconded bra Clark, the roll was called
and votes were is follows: H. Brenner-aye; t~~. Brenner-absent;
Clark-<ye; M :jors-cibsent; S •.etn_im-aye; and Young-aye.
Mrs. Dorothy Miller requested permission to run a dance at the
Youth Center on Highwu.y 71, and was advised there were certain
rules to be followed; She was ~:dvised to hzve two police officers
one on the inside and one on the out side. She w~:as to reE~ort back
to the council and advise if she :~~~:zs going to continue having the
dinces. Thed~:zte of t)gis dance ~•,as Maarch 20;
Youngmoved that the City secure bids on the clecring away of the
,_ brush on the right of way of the streets in Riverside, Missouri,
seconded by Clark, the roll was clled ind votes ,sere .~.s follows:

H. Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 333-11 being
bill providing for the general City Election to be Held in the City
on ~1pri1 6, 1;65; and providing for the judges to work in the election
and for the election of one alderm~~xn from each of the three ~~rards, seconded;
by Swetnam, the roll was called sand votes were as follows: H =Brenner-,zye;
',d.Brerner-absent; Clark-aye; Majors-absent; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill

the ppropri~tion of money out of the general fund of the City of
