January 19, 1865
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on Janu~y 19,
1965, 1~[xttirtY6C~ir_~ Y~}~xtaaxRfY^lt~dt at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call,
aldermen H. Brenner, W. Brenner, Clark and Swetnam were present,
Mayors and Young absent, Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meethg of January 5, 1965, were read and
accepted as read.
Mr. Hornbeck again inquired with regard to his business license,
and he was advised that the council had not had their special meeting,
nor had the building inspector met with them and studied the matter.
George Brook inquired with regard to having his business in
8iverside, Missouri, which consisted of garbage and trash pick-up,
he wanted to lease the place on highway 71, east side, across from
Wayne~s Sandwich shop (ground belongs to Grimes), where he would
park his trucks.
Mr. Bill Addison of City Sign Service, 2,000 Wyandotte ~~~
Kansas City, Missouri, inquired with regard to setting up signs Fy f~'
in Riverside, Missouri, that portion of the ordinance pertaining ~ '
to no bill board signs could be installed unless it pertained to
the business at the same location couldbe in stalled, however
the matter would be taken underadvisement.
H. Brenner moved that Mr. Searcy's application for Duimlex be
accepted, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were
as follows H. Brenner-aye;W.Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Ma,jora-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Young-absent.
H. Brenner moved that we change the court costs from $2.50 to
$5.00, and that an ordinance be wirtten if necessary, seconded by
Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye;
W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Majors-absent; Swetnam-aye; Young-absent.
H. Brenner moved that the request of Asst. Chief of Police
Seneker btx for the purdase of six neck ties for the policemenf~
at $1.50 each be accepted, seconded by Clark, the Poll was called
and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Majors-absent; Young-absent.
Swetnam moved that Bill No. D-65-2 being bill providing for tte
appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riversid~w
Missouri as set forth therein be placed on its first reading, seconded
by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follas: H. Brennenaye;
W. Brenner-aye; Clark-ale; Mayors-absent; Swetnam-aye; Young-absent;
said Bill N D-65-2 was accordingly read.
W. Bremer moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-2 be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; Clark-ads; W. Brenner-aye;
Swetnam-aye ;:_`::; Majors-absent ; Young-absent; Bill No. D-65-~ was accordingl
H. Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-2 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage fo same become Ord. No.
D-65-2, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner--ale; Clark-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Majors-absent; Young-absent; Bill No. D-65-2 was accordingly read,
approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-65-2.
H. Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by W. Brenner,
meeting adjourned.
