Minutes of Regular Meeting of
Board of Aldermen of City
of Riverside, Missouri
January 5, 1865
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on January 5,
1965, at 8:00 ~sw. and upon a roll call, aldermen H. Brenner,
W. Brenner, Clark, Swetnam present, Mayors absent and Young acting
as Ma~[or and calling said meeting to order.
Mhutes of December 15, 1964, regular meeting wwra read and
accepted as read.
Mr. Henderson, of Coffey Cup Catering Company, 1218 Swift,
North Kansas City, Missouri, sent representative to see if Riverside
required a business license for their operating in the City
of Riverside, they had been doing this for a short time and was
requested to cows to the council and see if a permit was required.
He was given business application to complete and advised that we
have ord inanc8 against such ¢lpeddling .
Mr. Hornbeck again was present to see about his receiving
as license to operate his tmd.ler sales business and he was advised
that his place of business was not zoned to operate such trailer
sales and that the budding inspector and council would have to
look into the matter and see if such business could operate there
upon motion by W. Brenner that Mr. Hornbeck be given a temporary
permit subject to the building inspector and council making
a sutdy for trailer sales and if this particular place of business
is turned down for trailer sales, by the council and building
inspector, Mr. Hornbeck's license fee would be returned on a
pro-rata basis, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Majors, absent; and Young acting as mayor.
A man from Certified Motors stated he would like to have
a used ear lot in connection with the Standard Station across
from Pride Service Station on Highway 71, he stated that the
service station man authorized him to rent the lot from him
and to use the service station rest room facilities, he was
requested to complete the business application and to get the
service station manager who was leasing the station to also
sign the application and that he was to fix up the lot dust
as soon as possible. The gentleman stated he had a used car
lot in Northmoore and on Vivian Road.
H. Brener moved that Bill No. 206A2 being bill amending
Ordinance No. 206 by the addition thereto of Section 2
requiring that streets be guaranteed for a period of two years,
be placedon its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll
- was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye;
Clark-aye; Mayors-absent; Swetnam-ale; and Young acting as Mayor,
Bill No. 206-A2 was accordingly read.
Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and bill No. 206A2
be plAced on its secondereading, seconded by H. Brenner, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye;
Swetnam+~aye; Majors-absent; Young acting as mayor, and Bill No. 206A2 was
accordingly read.

Acting Mayor Young and became Ord. No. 206A2.
A recess was called: Meeting reconveniened and apon a roll call
Aldermen H. Brenner; W. Brenner; Clark; Swetnam were present, Majors
absent and Young acting as Mayor.
Mr. Wilson again requested that he be given permission to continue
- his two buildings and that ~e presented a form from Mr. Charles that
his se4age disposal was inspected and it was all in order; upon motion
by Clark that the City accept the two building ~aam applications on
Lots 24 and 25, and seconded by HxxBaa Swetnam, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-pass; W. Brennerppass; Clark-aye;
M~~ors-absent; Swetnam-aye; and Young acting as mayor. W. Brenner then
c nged his vote to an aye.

H. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-65-1 being bill appropriating money
out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missour for the
payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on
its first reading seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Mayors-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Young, acting as mayor, Bill No. D-65-1 was a®ordingly read.
W. Brenner moved that ru~ea be suspended and Bill No. D-65-1
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye;
Clark-aye; Mayors-absent; Swetnam-aye; Young-acting as mayor, Bill No.
D-65-1 was accordingly read.
H. Brenner- moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-65-1 be
placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord.
No. D-65-1, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: H. Brener-aye;. W. Brenner-aye; C~k-aye; Mayors-absent; Swetnam-
Young- acting as mayor, Bi11 No. D-65-1 was accordingly read, aye'
approved by Acting Mayor Young and became Ord. No. D-65-1,
dated J n. 4- 1965,
Mr. Booth's bill/for ~376.1~ for rock on roads and grading was
approved for payment by the S}ecial Road District
Swetnam moved meeting adjourn seconded by ~fta~ W. Brenner, meeting
adjourned.
