of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Mo.
A regular meeting of .the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside Mo.
was held in the City Hall 1n Riverside, Missouri on June 16, 164, a~ 8:00
p.m. ,and upon a roll call, merman Clark, Majors, Swetnam and oung were
present and NaBrenner and W. Brenner-absent; Mayor Filger calling said
~'~~ meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 2, 1964 were read and after correctin
Majors' vote on the first motion there in to abstains they were a08epted as
read.
A group of women advised they wanted to know if they could use the
City's ball diamond twice a week. They were sponsored by Riverside
Merchants and wanted the diamond to practice. At first they stated they
were able to use the diamond twice a week, however since the days stay
light longer, they boys have been using it; and they were told they would
have to work this matter out with the Blatte County League who leased the
diamond.
Mayor Filger appointed Majors ind Douglas Seneker to be a Committee
and work out the problem of the ball diamond and who wr;s to use it.
Douglas Seneker, ~+sst. Chief of Police, stated to the council that a
good part of the time they have some one; in jail at the City Hall and
he would like permission to purch se a scythe, ax, corn knife, grass whip,
ppaint brushes wire buush (if necessary) and paint (to be:;chosen by
H. Brenner anc~ Young) so the prisoners could work for the City,
.r~ upon motion by Clark that Seneker be given permission to purchase the
' aforesaid items, and seconded by H. Brenner, the roll was called and votes
`` were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W, Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Majors-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye.
Clark mewed that the City purchase two steel doors to replace the
wood doors on the south side of the City Hill, the steel doors to have
small windows mn them, seconded by Young, the roll was celled and votes
were as follows: H. Brenneraaye; W. Brenner-absent; Clerk-aye; Majors-aye;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye;
Young brought up the matter of the construction of the road where
it gets narrower in front of City Hall and just a little west, stated
this w~xs a dangerous place and that a wall should be built and then
perhsps reflectors be put on 1t, that is on both sides of the road,
and it was decided for the Mayor to contact Mateve to get the price
of such work.

the offer therein for their service fr:~m now to July 9, 1964 and to

write them advising they are to accept calls only from our Assistant
Chief of Police Douglas Seneker.
H. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-64-12 being bill providing for the
appropriation of r;oney out of the general fund of the City ~_~f Riverside,
Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as :fisted therein be
placed on ins first re:~ding, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. B~°enner-absent; Clark-ale;
Majors=ayef~ Swetnam-aye; Young-aye>' and Bill No. D-64-12 was accordingly
read.
Swetnam moved thatrrules be suspended and Bill No. D-64-12 be placed
on its secohd rdading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes
