HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-02-04` ~_ Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside Missouri A regul:~r meeting of the board of =aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held February 4, 1964 in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen W. Brenner, Clark, Majors Swetnam were present, H. Brenner absent and Acting Mayor Young calling said meeting to order. Minutes of meeting of J-~nuary 7~, 1964 were read ~~nd accepted as read. K. P. Searcy stated he would give five more feet for the ~adway :..:cross from M:ginning Addition and Manning Addition would give five more feet on their side of the road, making a total of 50 ft. right of way for road. W. Brrnner moved that Manning addition be approved subject the road being changed to allow five more feet for road, making a total c,: 25 feet from Manning ,yddition side and that the house set back be 35 feet, sec~~nded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner sbsent; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Major, aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young :acting as mayor. W. Brenne moved that D. 5. Gr;~dy~s applic~,~tions for 7 houses be approved and K. P. Sexrcy's two applic tions for houses be :~.pproved subject to the septA~c sewage disposal system working properly and Dr. Charles coming to the council meeti3ig to explain the system, seconded by Swetnam the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-absent; lark-aye; Swetnam-aye; Majorg-Aye; W. Brenner aye; Young, acting as Mayor. Clark moved that the b--gilding application of Donald S. Raymer be approved, seconded by Majors, the roll was called and votes were follows: H. Brenner-absent; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Majors-aye; etnam-aye; and Young acting as Mayor. Clark moved that Mr. Sharp be given permission to move building as per his application, subject to Mr. Dorsey's approval, conded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: 9renner-a~~;W.Brenner-aye; Clark->ye; M~ajory-aye; Swetnam-aye; Arid Young acting as Mayor. Clark moved that David Brenner~s application for 3 4-plexes " :approved, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was c~..!.i.ed and votes were follows: H. Brenner-absent; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; M<ijorgsaye; Swetnam-aye; Young-acting as Mayor. Two young men, Messrs. Ainsworth and Thompson wanted to know what was or would be required for them to open a Teen Town in Riverside and they !•~ere advised first it would be necessaryy for them to provide at their own cost ample police protection and secondly that a permit would hove to be issued only on a temporary basis, depending upon complaints, disturbance, if any caused by the running of said Teen Town. The people in the area wanting .Riverside to Annex them c~~me +:o the Council and pr~_:~sented a map. The council thought it best for zll ~e council members to see the loc;:a.tion and area before any definite answer could be given. Minutes of Aeg. Meeting - Feb. 4, 1964; P.ge 2 Majors moved that the speed limit on High Drive from Hermosa Eoad to U. S. Highway 69 be changed from its present speed limit of 25 m.p.h. to 35 m.p.h., seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was calved ~~nd votes were as follows: HN Brenner-absent; W. Brenne -aye; Clark-aye; Majors-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young acting as Mayor. Swetnam moved that Bill No. D-64-3 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the General fund of the city of Aiverst~e Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed there in be placed on its first re<.:ding, seconded by Clark, the rol was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-absent; K. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; idajors-aye; Swetna~tp-aye; Young acting as Mayor, and Bill No. D-64-3 was accordingly read. Swetnam moved that rules be suspended and BI11 No. D-6~j-3 _e placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-absent; W.
