I:r. Dorsey reported on his accomp:Lis'r~ments since the special meeting of :su:;ust 10; 1963. He st:.ted he ;ent to Jefferson City :nd rret with the assistant he ?.d of the legs.l department of the Fublic aervice Commiss:_on and s;gent the :afternoon with him. They vaent over the cvholze matter of the petition with regard to the `~da.ter Company. I~~r. Dorsey made copy of the petition and amending it and point out why+t the City is compl<airing :j.bout, such as the fact, c ~nnot get water hydr.;nts r~rithout a franchise and that possibly some of these things should be sep<.r to m ,tters a.nd these r,,-otters could probably be prolonged for a year, -:and possibly could be settled in t4vo months. Mr. Dorsey s,:id he could possibly go over the books of the !later Companya.nd see if they ,re figuring the occupation 1_icense correctly, and he .~~s authorized to look into the ~~atter. Mr. Dorsey also talked to Blc.ck ,end Ve:itch with reg rd to giving n estirm~te on the amount involved in parch:+sing the ,•r ,ter lines ,nd what is probably r~rould cost to change over the lines to get w:jter from Kansas City. He s id they had just compl ted the deal with K. C. and I°1r. Dorsey could ~;et ~ figure over the week end. He said he •anted to find out just the cost of the 7_ines gas they ~~.re, plus vrhat we h vo to re»lace nd ~sk~x~l~~x~i~~sxxsx~~c~~Cxxx~ sand ~~rh~at we h ve to do to get w+ter xa~ from Kansas City, vrh_?.t the bond issue would be end whether it ~r:>uld be :x gr,od de 1.
