HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-05-07Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri May 7, 1963 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the city hall in Riverside, on May 7, 1963 at 8:00 p.m, and upon a roll call, aldermen H.Brenne~Ma~~~~renner, Clark, Ownns, present, Swetnam absent and Young, acting re nt calling meeting to order. Minutes of regular meeting of April 16, 1963 were read and accepted, and special minutes of April 24, 1963 were read and correcting that portion "Ed Bannon be advised that he is to make map of Cityof Riverside to scale, show all streets, most of the buildings, the City to have all copyrights to the maps" minutes were accepted. Mr. Cason of wayside Waifs pressnted the council with the type of ordinance he thought would be a good one and said he would send the City copy of the contract they require, stating the contract may _ be cancelled on 30 days notice, the trips will have to be requested by a City Official and each trip will be $5.00. He stated theymake every effort to find the owner of the dogs and will probably notify the person the first time. Mr. Cason was advised after the City had the opportunity to study the contract he would be notified. Representatives of Machinist Local 1650 of TWA inquired if the City would give them a permit to construct a building and if the City would construct a road on the City*s property, eastC Boundary, or donate the property for half of the road and perhaps Leslie Renner would give the other half, however since the problem of the road had not been definite, the council advised the representatives they should get definite answers from all concerned with regard to the road. H. Brenner moved that the City acdept the 3SeG's application to sell 5~ beer at Riverside Stadium subject to the County and State's approval, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes wereas follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-absent, and Young acting as Mayor. Messrs. Brown and Williams again were present with regard to -- getting permission for carnival in Riverside, and the Council decided it would be best if all council would look over the carnival at either Excelsior Springs or Liberty during the next two weeks for their approval. H. Brenner moved that Johnny Pete Filger's application for buisneas building be approved, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-absent; and Young acting as Mayor. W. Brenner mosd that the City accept K. P. Searcy's(Robant Developers) applications for three duplexes and one siggle family dwelling, seconded by Owens, the roll was called and votes wet as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Owens-aye; Clark-aye; Swetnam-absent, and Young acting as Mayor. W. Bruner moved that the City pay Aest, Chief of Police Perrine for two weeks vacation, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Owens-aye; Clark-aye; Swetnam-a~eQnt; and Young acting as Mayor. H. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-63-9 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner aye; W.Brenner-aye; Swetnam-absent; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; and Young acting as Mayor, Bill No. D-63-9 was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules besuspended and Bill No. D-63-9 be placed on Minutes of Reg. Meeting Page 2, May 7, 1963 its second reading, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-absent; and Yonng acting as Mayro, Bill No. D-63-9 was accordingly read. that rules be suspended and W. Brenner ma-ed/Bill No. n-63-9 be placed on .its third reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner- aye; W. Brenner-aye; C]xk-aye; Swetnam-absent; Owrans-aye; Young acting as Mayor and Bill No. D-~3-9 was accordingly read, approved by Acting Mayor Young and became Ordinance No. D-63-9, H. Brenner moved meeting ad,~ourn, 81ark seconded said motion and meeting ad,~ourned . Minutes read and approved as read this 21st day of May, 1963• l ~
