HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-04-16Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen City of Riverside Missouri April ~'~ 1g63 - A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of River- side, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on April 16, 1963, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen H.Bre.ner, W.Brenner, Clark, Owens and Swetnam were present and Young absent. Mayor Filber calling said meeting to order. Minutes of April 2, 1963 meeting was read and after correcting the portion that R. 0. Herman's building application be approved subject to approval by Mr. Charles, the minutes were accepted as read. Mr. Bannon stated he would construct a map of the City of Riverside, but did not say what it would coat the city, but he felt he could get copies of all the plats from Platte City and he was to advise W. Brenner the amount he thought it would cost the City. ,_ Tine representatives of the Shrinera requested permission to have a carnival in Riverside, in back of Red X, they would have 22 booths, 8 rides and two trailers for food and beverages, they stated if they got permission they would like it to be from June 10, through June lg, 1963. They had not gotten permission from Mr. Young yet, but thought it would be necessary to get approval by the City. This matter would be discussed further and and they would be given an answer. Mr. Robertson of General Electric stated they would like to present the City with Bids to convert over our present radio facilities and equipment in accordance with new laws and rulings becoming effective October 31, 1g63. It is his understanding two of the units can be converted over and one cannot and it will be necessary to change this one unit completely. Mr. Hutchinson also of General Electric stated the Asst. Chief of Police Perrine was interested in al electric siren and also the price was quoted in their bid. They also stated they received an inquiry from Perrine as to a Walkie-Talkie and stated this would probably work in all parts of the city and this would cost $716.00 each. H. Brenner moved that building permit be given to the applicant Frank J. Jones for the Clinic building upon his presenting the City with corrected drawing and sufficient plans for said building; that Robert Swafford's building permit be accepted, seconded by Clark, the kroll was called and votes were as kfollows: H.Brenner-aye; " W.Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-absent. Clark moved that E. H. Young be president to Council and I. Paine be City Clerk, seconded by H. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows:H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-absent. H.Brenner moved that the city purchase a mail box or fix a container for Mr. Dorsey and other people to place mail in for the City of Riverside, and that a sign be purchased for Brentcrest Drive, seconded by Clack, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-absent; Mayor Filger stated there would be a special meeting on Wednesday, April 24, 1963 in the City Hall in Riverside at 8s00 p.m. H.Brenner moa<d the Bill No. D-63-8 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the General Fund of the City of Riverside for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein ;be placed on its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as (follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Clark-ale; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; Yang-absent and Bill No. D-63-8 flas accordingly read. Brennera, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenne~aye; Clark-aye; 3wetnam-aye; Owens-aye; and Young-absent. Bill No. D-63-8 wqs accordingly read. W.Brenner-coved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-63-8 be placed on its third reading and bzpon passage of same become Ordinance No. n-63-8, seconded by Owens, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-ale; Swetnam-aye; Qens-aye; Young-absent, Bill No. n-63-8 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. D-63-8. H. Brenner maed meeting adjourn, seconded by Clark, meeting adjourned. Minutes read and approved as read this day of May, 1963.
