HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-07-03Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen City of Riverside, Missouri July 3, 1962 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Averside, Missouri on July 3, 1962, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen Clark, H. Brenner, Owens, Swetnam and Young were present and YI. Brenner absent, Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of June 19, 1962 meeting were read and accepted as read. Collector's report for month of June, 1962 was read and accepted. Mr. Knoth stated he had just taken over the Hi-Lo service station and requested an extension of time to pay his license, but he was advised the council had no jurisdiction over the matter. Mr. Gout spoke with stated he had one siren which city if the City did not want and get matching funds. This however, he stated they were get 5 0 off. regard to siren he thought would to go along with particular siren zaving a drive on in Riverside, and be ample for the the Civilian Defense cost $800.00, 10 h.p. now and we could A discussion was had with regard to revising the pool table ordinance and it was suggested Mr. Dorsey so revise the ordinance and if possible same to include the following suggested changes or insertions: The room where the pool tables are has to be closed off when the beer sales stop; the place to be well late at all times; the window shall have a clear view at all times. There shall be an arhside entrance from the main public street; No minors under the age of 21 years of age shall be permitted us use such tables or be allowed to enter such room. No pool tables shall be operated in any establishment that serves intoxicating or nonhtoxicating liquor past closing hour for such establishment. Also the matter of what was considered a pool table and whether the other entertaining devices could be included in the ordinance. H. Brenner moved that the city obtain an ordinance prohibiting person or persons from obtaining a license to sell liquthr by the drink in excess of 5~ until the City has ~ completed it ordinance on the requirement of establishments selling said liquor, with a penalty applied or inserted therein, and that same be placed on its first reading and be bill No.B~~-i, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes wire as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; and young-aye, Bill No.81-1- was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No.~~-L be placed on its second reading ~ seconded by H.Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No.~7-L was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No.g~-ybe placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No..f1-i- , seconded by Owens, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; Bill No.l'--z was accordingly read, approved My Mayor Filger and became Ord . The matter of the well in Northwood acres was discussed and the surveyor's plat showed the well to be on the road right of way or City's property and upon motion by H. Brenner that the well be filled with sand, and seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-a~as~nt; Clark-aye; Swetnam-aye; Owens-aye; Young-aye. Swetnam moved that Bill No. D-62-13 being bill providing for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed mi its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called andvotes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-a~eQnt; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-62-13 was accordingly ~ea,d . Brenner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-620.13 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H-Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-absent; Clark-aye Owens-aye; and Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-62-13 was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules be suspended and bill No. D-62-13 belplaced on its third reading and ~[pon passage of same become Ord. No. D-62-13, seconded by H.Brenner-~~e roll was called and votes were as Sollows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Owens-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-62-13 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. D-62-13.
