November 7, 1961
A regular meeting of the board of aldermen of 6ity of
Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside on November 7,
1861 at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen H. Brenner, Clark,
Nelson, Swetnam and Young were present, and W. Brenner Ak~sent;
Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meeting of October 17, 1961 were
read and accepted as read. Treasurer's report for month of
October was read and accepted as read.
John Swearingen and his attorney Bill Lay inquired if
Riverside could help with expense Mr. Swearingen had in constructing
the road to his house he was building in Seven Oaks Addition, he
stated he spent a total of $446.17. They were advised the city could
not do anything in this regard, as it was up to Mr. Pease to see that
the roads were in good condition. He had signed an agreement with
the City to place a certain amount per front footage on the lots,
but the City had not received the money so this contract could be
completed.
H. Brenner moved that the road in Indian Hills be
patched (Indian Lane) not to exceed $75.00, seconded by Clark, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: H-Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-absent;
Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.
H. Brenner moved that one more gas light be purchased and
in stalled on the south side of the City Hall Building and the price
not to exceed the price of the other lights to be installed in the
City's parking lot, namely $44.55, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absent; Clark-ale;
Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.
Clark moved that the City purchase two police ,jackets and
hit badge also holder for gun in police car, Swetnam seconded the motion
the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-a~ e~
Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye;
Nelson moved that the City accept C. J. Sider: bid of November 6
to remove !trees from right of way across from City Hall and to grade the
right of way east to Highway 69, seconded by Clark, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-absent; Clark-fie;
Velson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.
Nelson moved that Robant Devebpers' appliaetions for three
houses be accepted; Swetnam': application for remodeling be accepted and
Carothers' application for one house be accepted, seconded by Clark, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: H-Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absent;
Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.

for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on
its first reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were

Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-20-61

Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-20-61 was accordingly
read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-20-61
be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No.

D-20-61, seconded byClark, the roll was called and votes were as

Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. D-2Q-61 was accordingly read,
approved by Mayor Filger and became ordinancae No. D-20-61.
The Mayor called a recess and the meeting then
reconvened, the roll was called and Aldermen H-Brenner, Clark, Nelson-
Swetnam and Young present, W. Brenner absent and Mayor Filger presideing
over remainder of meeting.
A discussion was had with regard to the police department
and with motion by Clark that Bil.1 D?o. 199-5 being bill providing for
the setting of Robert Clark, policeman, salary at `„350,00 be placed
on its first .rear'•ing, seconded by Nelson, the roll ~•:as called and
