A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Misso}~ iRv~ ~ e d in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on October 17,
1961 ~n~'~ a ''roll call, Aldermen H. Brenner, W. Brenner, Clark,
Nelson, Swetnam and Young were present, Mayor Filger Calling said meeting
to order.
Judge Swetnam requested that some shades, drapes or blinds
be installed in the Mayor's office and that an ordinance covering
the selling of liquor to minors be drawn up.
W. Brenner stated the parking lot east of City Hall should be
lighted up at night.
Treasurer's report for month of September, 1961, was read
and accepted as read.
Clark stated that the Treasurer, Leslie Renner requested file
for the city papers, and she moved that a file be purchased for this
purpose, one which. suits his needs best, seconded by Nelson, the
roll was called and all voted in favor.
Letters were received from Mrs. Newmeyer and Mr. ~Tearington
giving permiss~n for the city to grade the trees off the south and
west side of Highdrive on their property. Swetnam moved that Chet
Powers be contacted to have the brush and trees graded off the
right of way at $11.00 per hour, seconded by Nelson, the roll was
called and all voted in favor.
Clark reported In Indian Hills, Osage Street needs patching
and will require approximately 2 to 3 tons of patching material,
the cost - $50.00; Indian Lane Road (City never has done any work
on that road, except take snow off) h.as bad holes and takes
approxirr~ely 6 tons of patching material and the cost - $150.00.
The main Indian Hills Road consisting of 527 x 22 feet is badly in
need of seal coat, the street would be graded and patched and seal
coat put o~ a~ QQ~~ ~fl1~~97.00; and to patch the remaining black
top streets~'wou~a require 3 or 4 tons of asphalt patching and
would cost approximately $100.00, in other words, it would cost
$150.00 to patch. Osage Rd. and other streets in Indian Hills,
excluding Indian Lane; High drive also needs patching andSouth
Road, these would take approximately 4 to 5 ions of patching material
and would cost approximately $100.00.
It was decided the Road Committee would have a meeting Tuesday.
Clark moved that the City Attorney draw up ordinance not
allowing tavern owners to serve minor liquor, seconded by Swetnam,

purchased at $7.50 each, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called ~i

Clark moved that the City purchase and have installed two gas
lights in the parking area, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called
and all voted in favor.
Clark moved that Young select some drapery material for the
~~ Mayor's Office, seconded by W. Brenner, the roll was called and all
voted in favor.
H.Brenner moved that Bill No. D-20-61 being bill providing for
the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of
Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as
listed therein be placed on its first reading, seconded by Nelson,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye;

W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye;
Bill No. D-20-61 was accordingly read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-20.-61
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-ayeg
Clark-afe; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-20-61
was accordingly read.

Nelson moved that~Bill No. D-20-61 be placed on its third
reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. D-20-61, seconded
by H. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
H.Brenner-aye; W.Brenner-aye; Nelson-aye; Clark-aye; Swetnam-aye;
Young-aye; Bill No. D-20b1 was accordingly read, approved by
Mayor Filger and became Ordinance No. D-20-61.
Swetnam moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Nelson, meeting
adjourned.
