A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen, ofCit y of Riverside,
Missouri taas held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on September 5,
1961 at X3:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, aldermen H. Brenner, Cl~:rk,
Nelson, Swetnam, and Young were present, Td. Brenner absent, and
Ma,~or Filger calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meeting of August 15, 1961 were read and
added to them was permission was given to Asst. ~Qief of Police Perrine
to purchase two pairs of trousers for win$er~ then they were accepted
as read.
Mr. Browne Edelen presented to the council examples of
block num'er signs to be m,_~unted on the street sign posts which were in
his catalogue. The purchase of other signs was also discussed.
4dm. J. Mazzucco Ares-anted application for business license
in the building on Highway 69, south and east of City Hall Building,
he w meted to have an auto trim business and upholstering of furniture.
H. Brenner moved that K. P. Searcy~s applications of
Lloyds Land Company for building four houses on lots 1, 2, 3, and
!a. in I~TOrthwood Acres be approved; Mr. Andrews of Chamber Propane
30x50 store building or warehouse building be approved, Mr. Henry A.
Easley application for garage and place for children to wait for school
bus be approved; Nr. Wm. Kalivas application for four apartment buildings
with 8 apartments in them and one in the asement of one building and
oneap~rtrrient building with 12 apartments in it, making a total of
!{5 apartments in five buildings, be approved subject to the approval of
the State Water Pollution Board of M z~'~-ir~n~e e County Sanitarian
and the location of the lagoon to be~0 feet so'hth west of east
property line of Riverside; 250 feet north of the south City property
line(riandon Road); 250 feet east of the west property line being
the cemetery; 2500 feet south of north City property line being Highway
29, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
H. Brenner-aye; W-Brenner Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnan;-aye;
and `young-aye.
h"rs. Kloster again inquired regarding obtaining license
for• her Be^uty Shop. After discussing the matter aga; n, Mr. Dorsey
was consulted and he advised the only license could be given Mrs.
Kloster was through the adjustment board which could rule on the
permit if it were ar:.hardship case. Young also was u_oing to investigate
to see if license could be obtained frorr, the State without the City
giving a license.
Young moved that the city purchase four hazard marker signs,
red and wiiitP, to be placed at the best location on Norwood Road where

Assistant Q`aef of Police Perrine reque>sted perriiss?on to
have three winter hats blocked and cleaned at 'w3.00 per hat and
he requested permission to purchase some ammunition for their guns.
Nelson moved that the hats be cleaned and blocked, three hats at 3.00
each, sec~;nded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows:
H. Brenner-aye; W.Brenrer-etb~n,~,Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnan;-aye;
and Young-~~~.

H. Brenner moved that Bi7.l No. D-lh-cl being bill providing for
appropriation of money out of the ger•ersl fund of the city of
Riverside, Missouri for payment of certain indebtedness to employees
and creditors be placed on its ffi~rst reading, seconded by Clark, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absan
Clark-a ye; A'elson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. D-61-16
was accordingly read.

second re~::ding,seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: H-Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absent; Nelson-aye; Clark-aye;
Swetnam,-aye; and Young-aye; B:i.ll No. D-61-16 was accordingly read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-51-16
be placed on its third reading ar_d upon. passage of same become
Ordinance No. D-61-16, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: H-Brenner-aye; W-Brenner-absent; Clark-ale;
Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; ar_.d Yo~.zng-aSTe; Bill No. D-61-16 was accordingly
read by Niayor Fiber and became Ord. No. D-61-16.
Swetnam moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Nelson, meeting adjourned.
