HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-07-18Minutes of Regular Meeting of Boi rd of Aldermen of~City of Riversfi e, A~souri July 18, 1961 A regular meetinn of the Board of Aldermen of City of River- side, Missouri was held in the Ci~r Hall in Riverside, on July 18, 1961 at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen H. Brenner, Clark, Nelson, and Young were present, W. Brenner and 5~.~~etnam absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to or der. Minutesof Regular meeting of Jum 20 were read and accepted as read. Minutes of July L~., regular meeting were read and accepted as read. Treasurers report for month of June, 1961 was read and accepted as read. Bida were received regarding the installing of culvert and repair the road on Norwood as follows; F. F. Filger, Jr. (Dirt obtained in Vicinity)~650.00 Booth Asphalt Paving Co. Neighbar~hood of 1100.00 Damon Pursell Const. Col •1100.00 if use dirt; in vicinity, but if have to haul in dirt, X1550.00 Don Grisham :825.00 Si~etnam present this portion of meeting. Nelson reported that dirt had washed out around the culverts and it was nec:~~s~~ry to remove the culverts and reset them and place dirt around them again after the culverts are sealed. It was decided that the council meet with F. F. Filger, Jr. and the situation be looked over and then a bid be gotten from him.. Ths meeting to be held Wed. evening. Nelson moved that theweeds on the side of the streets and roads in Riverside be moored, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye. Clark moved that bids be obtained on the widening of the road in front of City Hall from High:aay 69, second ed by H. Brenner, the roll •~~as c°.lled and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brennen-absen Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-sye; and Young-aye. H. Brenner moved that Bi11 No. 21}6-2 being bill accepting that portion of Brenview Subdivision existing in Riverside, Mis souri, second ed by Young, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. McReon spoke with regard to numbering the houses stated he will have a ne p of Riversfi a Area and would the City at ita cost, and he was advised to do so. in Riverside, and order one for Minutes of Regular Meeting July 18, 1961 - °age 2 Clark moved that Bill No. 345 be placed on its first reading, said bill rm oviding for the duty to stop in the event of an accident: the immediate re~•ort of accidents: The duty upon the striking of an unattended vehicle: and the duty u~~on striking fixtures upon the highway and Fm oviding penalty for the violotion thereof, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows; H.Brenner-aye; W~Srenner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. was accordingly read. Nilson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 345 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 3l~.5 was accordingly read. Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 345 be pieced on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 345, second ed by H. Brenner, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner- ayre; W-Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. 31.1.5 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor N'ilger and became Ord. No. 345. Nelson moved th_>t Bill No.196-1 being bill repealing Ord. No. 196 and - enacting in lieu thereof an ~ dinance specifying requirements-for light son motor vehicles and trailers operated in the City of Riverside, and specifying the times of day and night when such lights must be used and providing a penalty for viol^tion thereof be placed on its first read- ing, second ed bar H. A discussion was had regarding an ordinance g~oviding for n© parking in certain areas and penalty for violation thereof, with Motion bT Clark that Dorsey be requested to get up such Ordinance and seconded by H. Brenner moved that Bill No. D-61-13 being bill providing for the a~:pr©priation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Mss sours for the payment of certain irti ebtedness as listed therein to employees and creditors be placed on its first reading, second®d by Young, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Su:etnam-aye; Young aye; and Bill No. D-61-x,3 was accordingly read. Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-6~-13 be placed on its second reading, second ed by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: H.Brenner-aye; ~J.Brenner-absent; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-61-13 was accordingly read. Clerk moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-13 be placed on its third reading and up--n passage oP same become Ord.
