A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside,
Missouri w~~s held in the city hal~'.inYAiveps3~de on June 6, 1961,
at 8:C0 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen :i. Brenner; W. Brenner
Clark, Nelson were pre_ent, Swetnam and Young absent and Ntayor Filer
callinr~ said meeting to order. Minutes of Regular meeting of May l~, 1961
were read and accepted as read.
The Collectors report for month of May, 1961 was read and
accepted as read and TreasurerTS report for month of May, 1961 was
read and accepted as read.
Judge Swetnam spoke regarding his desire to having ordinances
amended or new ones drawn up, one, he stated was the ordinance requiring
certain lights on vehicles, Ord_i_nance No. 196, he would like to see
this ord~.:nance be more complete with regard to lights on vehicles,
both front and back. Another ordinance he would like to have is
one whe:r/ people are not allowed to leave the scene of an accident
witl.out permission. He stated there were several cases where this
had happened, and also a case the city had with regard to lightshad
to be iu rued loose. Judge Swetnam also stated he did not know why
no further action had been taken with regard to the tra_i_ler courts,
but that heneeded a complaint to be filed before he could take any
action. Swetnam stated Dr. Charles was always willing to be a witness
if he was needed. Judge Swetnam also expressed his appreciation to
the coop: ation he was given by Nir. Dorsey and the other members of
the police department.
Mr. George Pease wanted to discuss the matter pertairing to
paving streets in Seven Oaks Addition. The letter he had written to
the council of 1'•7ay 2, 1961 was re-read and stated he vrould be willing
to put 500.00 in escrow for each lot he sells in the addition, and
then the City take the money after ~ all of the lots are sold and
it could put in the curbs and streets.
H. Brenner moved that Mr. Pease offer of putting~5~.0. 00 in
escrow for each lot in Seven Oaks Addition as they are sold under

of Ordinances necessary. Mr. Pease stated there were LL!}. lots to be
sold and they have a frontage of 1151, Clark seconded the ion,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: a. Brenner. E?renner,
aye; Clark-aye; Swetnam-absent; D?elson-aye; Young-absent;
Mr. Pease stated he would have R. B. Miller represent him and
P•Zr. Puller would contact Nir. Dorsey.
Young Present this portion of meeting.
Mrs. Louise Davis spoke with regard to a new news paper be
printed in Ri_vers:ide, Missouri and that she was trying to ~,et ads
to pay for the cost of printing same.
Asst. Chief of Police Perrine asked for permission to order
s'_ort sleeve su;ng-er shirts for the police department, stated they
needed nine shirts the cost is X5.00 each, plus X1.75 for the arm
patch and also needed three new badges as the other ones were in
such condition they needed refinishing or new badges would cost not
much more. Upon Motion by Young that permission be granted to
purchase nine shirts at X6.75 each, including arm patches and three
badges; that the old badges be -turned in and an account m,~de of all
the badges, seconded by 2vTelson, the roll was c^11ed and votes were
as f:~llows: H-Brenner-aye; bd. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; IQelson-aye;
Swetnam-absent; Young-aye.
Clark read letter from Booth Contracting Company with regard
to roads in Riverside; that all the ;gravel roads needed grsding ~~nd
the City wes advised this had already been clone. The matter of
repairing Indian Hills Road was again discussed and it trr,s decided
that all the property owners involved should be contacted and
all s!:ould be willing to pay for their portion of the cost of curbing
and be willing to put in lame enough culvert pipes to carry off the

water at their expense.
Dtelson moved that T~Zr. Dorsey be ~gequested to Brava up ordinance
~_ or whate~.er is necess-ry to make the streets or roads in Indian
Hills addition boulevards, seconded by H. Brenner, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: I3. Brenner-aye; LJ. Brenner-aye; Clark-are;
Nelson-aye; Sw:>t;nam-absent; Young-aye.
Nelson moved that the City put tube in south end of Northwood
road, have the Road District to cut ditches and repair with cold patch
Porthwood road; ditch Indian Bills road on north side of j.znction and
put rock into the run off holes on south side, the ditches to be cleaned
out from the end of the curbs to the east side of Sawyers, seconded by
I-I. Brenner- the roll was called and votes vae~e as fo~lows: II.Brenaer-aye;
L1. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye.
Nelson motied that B9-ll No. 3~2-1 being bill accepting eight
deeds conveying strips of land abuting upon high drive in the City of
Riverside for the purpose of widening said high drive; agreeing to
conditions i_n each of said deeds; and authorizing and directing City
clerk to record said deeds, seconded b y Clark, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: H-Brenner-aye; TJ1. Brenner-aye; Clark-aye;
Nelson-aye; 3~tnam-absent; Young-aye; Bill No. >~42-1 was accordingly
re=d.
Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bi_11 No. 31}2-1 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by H.Brenrer, the roll was called and
votes wire as follows: H.Branner-aye; W. Brenner-a,ye; Clark-aye;
Nelson-aye; Swetnam-absent; Young-aye; and Bill No. 342-1 ~ras~ accordingly
read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 31+2-1 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of s-~me bec:;me Ord. No. 342-1,
seconded by W. Brenner, the roil was called and votes were as follows:

Young-aye; Bill No. 342-1 was accordingly read, approved by Niayor
Filger and became Ord. No. 342-1.
H. Brez:ner suggested that each of the parties deeding over the
land for the City~s Highdrive road be written letters of ap reciation.
Clark moved that Don Isham residential applications for two
houses be accepted, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: H=Brennerjaye; W-Brenner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye;
Swetnam-absent; Young-aye;
Mayor Filger su~;~ested letter be written A'~r. Panu s to remove
the dirt from the curbs and on tie side of the road on the west
entrance to Indian Hills.
Marshall Davis advised he wo~~1d follow through with getting
more complaints on the trai]_er parks and stated he serves the papers
and on the s€ime day m~~kes an i-nspection of the trailer parks.
H.Brenner moved that Bill No. D-61-11 ~;eing bill providing for
the appropriate on of mone- out of the gener~~l fund of the City of River-
side for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein to
employees and firms be placed on its first reading, seconded by Clark-
the roll wcs cabled and votes wre as follows: ~I.',rerner-aye; W.Brenner-

D-61-11 was accordingly read.
Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-11 be placed
on its second reading, seconded by H.Brenner, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-aye; H. Brenner-aye; W. Brenner-aye;
Dlelson-aye; S~retnam-absent; Yo1.ng-aye; and Btll No. D-F;1-11 was accordingly
read.
Nelson moved that r~zles be suspended and Bill No. D-r1-11 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. D-61-11,
seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: I-I-Brenner
aye; W. Bre?.ner-aye; Clark-aye; Nelson-aye; Srdetnam-ayes Young-aye;
Bill No. D-61-11 was accordingly read, approved by Nayor Filger and be-
came Ord. No. D-61-11.
H. Brenner moved meeting adjourn, seconded by t~d. Brenner, meeting adjournec
