HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-04-04Minutes of Regular meeting of Board of P_ldermen of Ci ty of Riverside, Missouri April !~, 1961 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri. was held n the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on April 4, 1961 at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen Clark, Nelson, McKeon, Swetnam and Young were present, Klamm Absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of march 21, 1961 were read and accepted as read. Collectors report for month of itiarch, 1961 was read and accepted as rea d. Clark reported the black to-~ped roads had beenpatched in accordance with her report a~ the previous meeting. Clark also reported that she obtained the figure for black-topping or ~ ving streets as follows: X8.50 per ligeal foot, including laz~r back curbs, 25 ft. back to back leaving 24 ft. asphalt road. Said base of road must be sub-graded to 110 of a foot. Nelon moved that Bill No. 344 be'_ng bill prohibiting the business of fortune telling, p~ lmistry and palm-reading within the city 1`mits of the city of Rive side, Missouri and providing a penalty for the violation of the termffittrereof, be placed on its first reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson-a~~; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; `_'oung-ay©; and Bill No. 3La.l~ was accordingly read. Clark moved th^.t rules be suspended ar.d Bill h`o. 3Z~q be placed on its sec_;nd reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-a e; Klamm~~nt; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young}~aye; and Bill Iv'o. 3~}l+ was accordingly read. D?elson moved that rules be suspended and Bi_11 No. 34LI be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 3L{I~, seconded by Clark, the roll wrs called ar.d votes were as follows: Clark-ale; Klanun-a~e~nt; Nelson-aye; McY~eon-ayes Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. 344 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor F'1 gar and became Ord. No. 3L}4. Clark moved that Bill No. 343 being bill prescribing the terms of a contract for the maintenance of a public sewer line in the right of way of High Hrive, a public street in the City of Riverside; and authorizing and directing the Niayor to execute such contract on behalf of the City aryl the City Clerk to attest the signature of the N~ayor and to affix the seal of the City t'nereto~ seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes wee as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absent; IQelson-aye; rS`cKeor.-aye; SwFt nam-aye; Young-aye; and Bi:Ll No. 343 was accordingly read. Nelson moved that Flr~les be suspended and B`11 No. 343 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clerk-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson -aqe; Pdlc'"ion-aye; Swetnam-aye; Yo~rng-aye; and Bill No. 3L~3 wws accordingly read. No. 343, seconded by Nelson, the roll w as called and votes were as follows: Clark-a~ae; Klamm-a~se~ Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Mclieon-aye; and Young-aye; Bill No. 343 was accord- ingly read, arproved by Mayor Filger ar,d became Ord. No. 343. Nelson moved that Bi>).1 No. 333-4 being bill canvassing the returns of the Judges of the Gener^1 Election held on April 4, 1961, for City Offices and declaring the r:=sults thereof and providing for the issuance of certific^tes of election, be placed ,n its f9_rst reading, seconded by ,~~~IcKeon, the roll was called and votes were as follows: C]amk-aye; Klamm-absent Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 333.-4 was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules bas uspended and Bill Iv'o. 333-4 be placed on its2second reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and•~otes were as follows: Clark-a,ye; Klamm-absent; Swetnam-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Young aye; and Bill No. 333-4 was accordingly read. Nelson moved that rules be suspended and bill providng for the appropriation ofmoney out the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment to employees and creditors as listed therein be reading, seconded by Clark, the roll wasc ailed Clark-a,ye; Klarrm-absent; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye and Bill No. D-61-7 was accordingly read. Bill No. D-61-7 being of the generr:l fund of of certain indebtedness placed on its first and votes were as fo)_lows, SwE~~tnam-aye; Young-aye; Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-7 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-a~rsent; Nelson-aye; Svetnam-aye; Y~.ci{eon~aye; yo,.ng-aye; and Bill No. D-61-`% was accordingly read. Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill DIo. D-61-7 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of ssme become Ord.
