A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen ofCity mf, Riverside,
Missouri was held in the City Ha11 in Riverside, Missouri on
March 21, 1961, at x:00 p.m. and upon a mall call, alderman
Clark, Klamm, Swetnam and Young were present and nelson a.nd
NicYieon, absent. Mayor F'ilger called said meeting to order.
Minute s; of regular meeting of March ?, 1961 were read and
accepted as read.
Mr. Hedgcock in q uired as to whether hecould receive
some of the City's business at his service station, and he was
advised the matter would be discussed further.
Dewey Marx inquired regarding getting permission to
have his wife set up a palm reading place in Eiverside, he
was advised this had come up previously and his brother-in-law
was advised the City had no ordinance providing forthis particular
business. The City's attorney would again. be contactedin this
regard and he could come to the meeting the latter part of April, 1961
to find :-ut the conclusion.
Clark moved that Nir. Dorsey be requested to draw up an
ordinance not allowing palm reading in Riverside, i~ it is the
only procedure to keep them out, seconded by Klamm, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent;
Swetnam-aye; McKeon-absent; and Young-aye.
Clark aa~vised it would cost X220.00 to patch Highdrive;
75.00 Norwood Road; 20.00 youth Hrive and X20. indi.an hills.
Swetnam moved that Wilson's business building applicati:~n
be approved; American Marietta Co.TS business building application
be approved and Lloyd R. Bum~arder Residential building application
be approved, seconded by Klamm, the roll ws called and votes
were s follows: Clark-aye; K1amm-aye; Nelson-absent; McKeon-absent;
Swetna~-aye; and Young-aye.
Young mo-~ed that Bill No. D-61-6 being bill providing for the
appropri:~tion of money out of the general fund of the Cityof Riverside
for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed
on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and votes
were as f oll®ws: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-a;;sent; McKeon-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-61-6 was acordi_ngly read.
Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-6 be placed
on its ~h~nnd reading, seconded b y Swetnam, the roll wascalled and votes
were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nels::~n-absent; McKeon-absent;
Swetnam-aye; Young-aye; and Bill NTO. D-61-6 was a~ordingly read.
Klarr~m moved that rules be s~pended and Bill No. D-61-6 be
placed on its thf~rd reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No.
D-61-6, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes w~=re as follows:
Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent; McKeon-absent; Swetnam-aye;
and Young-aye; Bill No. D-61-6 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor
F9_lger and became Ord. No. D-61-6.
