HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-01-17Minutes of Regu'~r Meeting of Board of Alderrrien City ofRivesi_de, No. Jan ua r'y 17, 1961 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hallin Riverside, Misso ri on Janu1^y 17, 191 at 8:00 p.m, and upon a roll call, Aldermen Clark, Klemm, Nelson, $wetnam, and Young Pr.sent, P4cKeon, absent and Mayor. Filger calling said meeting to order. Nir. N;ain representing American Nlsrietta Company presented building applications and advised said buildings w ould be just ~~2 of the size as shown on the print and he rr,arked such size thereon, said buildings w:xzld be built out of blocks, he was advised the council would approve said applications subject to the approval of these buildings by the County Sanitarian. Mr. Scott advised he would like to reopen the shooting ranr;e in Riverside, and Ordinance Nio. 242 regulating such shotgun ranges was read aloud and he was advised it would be satisfactory to opel~te such range unless it becomes a hazard or nuisance and agreed thereto. Mr. Marks inquired about securing license to set up a palm reading business in Riverside, and he was advised thematter would have to be looked into and he would be advised at our next regular meeting, February 7, 1961. Klemm moved that American Marietta Company's application for two buildings be approved subject to the approval of the County Sanitarian of the sewage disposal, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: dark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-absent; Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye. Clark moved that Mr. t?rley's business license for Club Ann:;x be approved, seconded by Young, the roll was called and votes wre as follo~.as: Clark-ale; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-absent;•Swctnam-aye; and Young-aye. Klemm moved that Bi11 No. 199-2 being bill rgtify~_ng the employment of Robert ~~ells as Assistant Police Chief in the City of Riverside, and authorizing the payment of a salary for said Assistant Police Chief and his co ntinued employment, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKean-absent; Swetnam-aye; Koung-aye; and Bill No. 199-2 was accordingly read. Klemm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 19-2 be placed on its sec:~nd reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson}~aye; 1~cKeon-absent; Swetnam-aye; ar~d Young-a,ye; Bill No. 1992 was accordingly read. Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 19$-2 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 199-2, seconded by Klemm, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Kla.mm-aye; Nelson-aye; N;cKeon-absent; Swetnam®-ay~~ Young-aye; and Bill No. 199-2 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filer and b ecame Ord. No. 199-2. Klemm moved thst Mrs. :Paulhe be given permission t o purchase one ordinance book, one ledger book and ]a;dger sheets, also stamp pad, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and vo±es were as follows: Clark-aye; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye;yw,9~~ McKeon-absent; and Young-aye. It was suggested that notice be put in paper advising City Auto License were due and the ladt date to get same would be one month from date said notice was put in the paper. Page 2 minutes of xegul?r meeting January 17, 1961 Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-2 being bill providing for the appropriation of funds out of the general flznds of the treasury of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein be placed on its fd~rst reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes w.. re as follows: Clark-a,ye; Klanun-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-absent; Swetnam.-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. D-61-2 was accordingly read. Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. D-61-2 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same b ecoxre Ordinance No. D=6~-2, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes wcr e as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; McKeon-absent; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-rye; Bill No. D-61-2 was accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord.
