September 20, 1960
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside
was held on September 20, 1960 at 8:00 p, m, in the City Hall in
Riverside, and upon a roll call, Aldermen Clark, Klamm, McKeon,
Swetnam, and Young were present, Nelson absent and Mayor Filger
calling said meeting to order.
Minutes of meeting of September 6, 1960 were read and
accepted as read.
Treasurer's report for month of August, 1960 was read and
accepted as read.
McKeon who is on the street naming and house numbering
committee asked if it would in order to ask Mr. Kalivas to .help
number the houses in Riverside, Missouri as he has considerable
experience in that matter and everyone was in accord with asking
Mr. Kalivas to help with the number ing of the houses.
Clark reported the matter of widening the road in front
of the City Hall Building, or High Drive, was almost complete and
the papers were ready for signatures.
Klamm moved that the recommendation of the Zoning
Board with regard to rezoning certain property owned by Mr. Kalivas
be,.accepted as follows: That 300 feet of said property along
U. S. 71 Highway be rezoned to District D and balance of said
property be rezoned from District A to District B and that said
information be given to Mr. Dorsey for his drawing up proper
ordinance, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were
as follows: Clark,-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent; McKeon-aye;
Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye.
McKeon reported that Mr. Booth of Standard Sealcoat
advised it would cost $250.00 to patch and resurface the holes on
Osage Circle and Pawnee Drive in Indian Hills and that this was in
the form of motion that this work should be done, seconded by Klamm,
the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye;
Nelson-absent; Swetnam-aye; McKeon-aye; and Xoung-aye.
The Council and Mayor advised Marshal Davis that no one
in the police department could order any merchandise what so ever
without permission of the Police Committee and or the council with
the exception, however, of the repairing police car, gas, oil, etc.
Klamm moved that Jessie Hodge building application be approved
subject to the approval of the septiC~~ tank by the county sanitarian;
Ray Smiths application for remodeling,be approved subject to the
set back being in compliance with the ordinances and the bus~ess
license of Dog and Suds be approved, seconded by McKeon, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent;
Swetnampaye; McKeon-aye; and Young-aye;
McKeon moved that Bill No. D-6o-17 being bill providing for
appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside
for the payment of certain indebtedness to employees and creditors be
placed on its first reading, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and
totes were as follows: Clark-ale; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent; McKeon-aye;
~~.s~~a~~~~~ Swetnam-aye; and Young-aye. Bill No. Di~O-17 was accordingly
read.

Klamm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No, D-60-17
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Clark-a~e;;Klamm-aye; Neslon-
absent; Swetnam-aye; McKeon-aye; and Young:aye; Bill No. D-60-17
was accordingly read.
Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No, D-60-17
be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become
Ordinance No, D-60-17, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and
votes were as follows: Clark-ale; Klamm-aye; Nelson-absent; Swetnam-
aye; McKeon-aye; Young-aye; Bill No, D-60-17 was accordingly read,
approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord, No. D-60-17,
Klamm moved mee®ing adjourn, seconded by McKeon,
meeting adjourned,
