HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-09-15Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen City of Riverside Missouri A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall on September 15, 1959, at 8:00 p.m. and upon a roll call, Aldermen, Clark- Klamm- NelttOn- McKeon- Swetnam were present, Acting Mayor Young calling said meeting to order in the absence of Mayor Filger. Minutes of Meeting of September 1, 1959 were read, inserting the amount of $161.00 to be spend on the black top road in front of Mr. Solomon~s house in Indian Hills, plus an additional amount of $50.00 for patching other holes in road for a distance of approximately 200 ft. and said minutes were accepted as read. McKeon moved that Harold L. Coffman, CPA, be given permission to make a survey of the City's records for an estimate of a complete audit to the end of March, 190, said work to take two days, with one CPA at the rate of $6.00 per hour and one non= CPA, at the rate of $5.00 per hour, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and votes were as follows: lark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young- (Actg. ayor). Klamm moved that McKeon talk to Mr. Panus about closing his south (road) approach to Indian Hills Addition as he promised to do and if he is not going to close it immediately for Mr. McKeon to contact Mr. Dorsey t~equesting Mr. Dorsey to write a letter to Panus absolving the City of Riverside of any liability for any and all claims which might arise out of the condition of said road, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeom-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young- no vote, acting as Mayor. Klamm moved that N. J. Nelsons application for building grain bin be approved; Riverside Motors business license be approved; M. J. DeHaemer remodeling application be approved and Mrs. Roy C. Renner~s building application be approved subject to her getting certificate from Mr. Charles approving same, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson- aye; McKeon aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young-no vote, acting as Mayor. It was requested to ask Mr. Dorsey with regard to it being necessary r the Board of Aldermen to have a hearing with regard to the rezoning of coperty in Riverside, Missouri after the zoning boards decision has been .tended down to the Board of Aldermen, and the zoning boards decision being that no rezoning be done. Klamm moved that the Board of Aldermen reject Mr. LaRoach~s and Mr. Millers applicationsfor building permits due to their not complying with Ordinance No. 255, Sec. 15 in regard to temporary buildings, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; K1amm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; and Young, no vote, acting as Mayor. Asst. Chief of R~lice Seneker requested permission to attend State Highway Patrol school from Sept. 20, 1959 to October 3, lg5g, and he was given same. Klamm moved that Bill No. 1028 being bill providing for the appropriation of money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of cert~n indebtedness as follows be placed on its first reading; Minutes of Regular Meeting September 15, 1959 'age 2 Schooley, Inc. Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 1028 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Swetnam, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-a e; Klemm-aye; Nelson-aye; Swetnam-aye; McKeon-aye; Young-(Acting Mayor and Bill No. 1028 was accordingly read. Klemm moved that rules be suspended and bill No. 1028 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 1028, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as followss Clark-aye; K~~mm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-aye; Swetnam-aye; Young-acting Mayor, and Bill No. 1028 was accordingly read, approved by Acting Mayor Young and became Ord.
