A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Riverside, Missouri was held on October 7, 1858, at 8:00 p.m.
in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri, upon a roll call, aldermen
Clark, Klamm, Scrivner, Nelson, and Young were present, McKeon
absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order.

Collector's report for month of September/was read and
accepted as read.
Mr. Heins of the Standard Oil Company presented a
plat showing where their company proposed to build a station
on Highway 71, across from the Pride Service Station and would
like permission from the city to run a serage line across the
highway right of way and to connect with another line across
the highway. He was advised that a letter be written to the
City with regard to this matter and the City Attorney waould have
to approve same.
Mr. Moore spoke with regard to his desiring to open
a snack restaurant next to his store in Northwood Acres, and
stated that since there was only 2~ months remaining in the
dear he wondered if the license fee could be cut, but was
advised this was not possible as the ordinance would not permit
it, and if the ordinance were changed, there would be many other
businesses doing the same.
Mr. Fred Morris, manager of Paris Realty company inquired
with regard to dog kennels in the city andhe was advised as to
that portion of the City in which there would be no ob,~ection to
Kennels being built.
Mr. Pettyr~ohn presented the plat of his property
on Northwood Road and also presented application for building
house thereon. He was advised Mr. Dorsey, City Attorney would have
to look over the plat and advise whether same should be approved.
Clark moved that the 6ity purchase certain items as

seconded by Klamm, the roll was called and votes wee as follows:

Scrivner moved that the City employ the County Surveyor
to establish the section line at Valley Drive and South Road, seconded
by Nelson, the roll was called and votes were asld:'ollows: Clark-aye;
K~,~mm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; McKeon-absent; and Young-aye.
Scrivner moved that some action be taken with regard to the
machinery being parked behind the Sinclair Service Station at the
Junction of 71 and 6g highways, seconded by Klamm, the roll was called
and votes were as Follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-
absent; Scrivner-aye; Young-aye.

seconded by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes were asl~'ollows

Yong-aye; Bill No. 1006 was accordingly read.
Scrivner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 1006
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Clark, the roll was ca'ded
and votes were asl~'ollows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye;
McKeon-absent; Scrivner#aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 1006 was
accordingly read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 1006
be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become
Ord. No. 1006, seconded by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye; McKeon-absent;
Scrivner-aye; Young-aye; Bill No. 1006 was accordingly read,
approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No.,~.006.
Business license for Ron~s Tavern was presented for
approval and James F. Petty~ohn~s .residential building permit was

applications be approved and seconded by Scrivner, the roll was3'

adjourned.
Klamm moved meeting adjourn, seconded by Nelson, meeting
Minutes read and accepted as read this 21st day of October, 1958.
