HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-09-03 Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri September 3, 1957 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri wa,s held in the City Ha7.1 in Riverside, Missouri on September 3, 1957, a.t 8:00 p.m, and upon a roll call, a.ldermer Clark, Scrivner, McKeon and Young were present, Klamm, and Nelson absent and Mayor Filger calling said meeting to order. Minutes of regular meeting of Agusut 20, 1957 were read a.nd accepted as read. Collector's report for month of August,l95'~,wa,s read and accepted as read. NIr, O'Neal of Northwood Acres requested that oil be put on the road in front of his house or South Valley Road, and he was advised this matter was in the process of being worked out. a. file cabinet be purchased for Scrivner moved that~Police Court Judge Swetnam, said file cabinet be equipped with whhels and lock complete., seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-a.ye; Klammpabsent; Nelson-absent; Scrivner-aye; McKeon-aye; Young-aye; suggested Young reported on a:.~ procedure which would possibly be best for the city to follow in forming committees and forming the budget committee. In his suggestions was one that there should be three permanent committees plus the budget committee which could possible handy most of the matters which would come up. ate.-~, O~ ~ ./ The finding of the honing ~ommittes on their hearing regarding the rezoning of the property on the East of the Cemetery east of 71 highway and the rezoning of the property where the City Hall is located a.nd also the property across the road from the Cit~r Hall, there were no protests received and it was suggested that the property east of Sunny Slope Cemetery be zoned from residential to be used as cemetery and the property where the City Hall is located and across from City Hall be zoned for business. The Mayor then announced the council would disclose their findingson a.foresa after their hearing on September 17, 1957 a.t 7:30 p.m. Scrivmer moved that Mrs. Clark be given authority to attend the next Special Road District Meeting which would be September 7, seconded by McKeon, the roll wa,s called a.nd votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson-absent; McKeon-aye S~~rivner-a,ye; Young-aye; Scrivner moved that Bill No. 296 being bill appropriating money out of the general fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain indebtedness as follows 'oe placed on its first reading: Southwestern Bell Telphone Co.(Sh 1-1191 & Sh 1-1501) Gott Printing Cc. Clark moved that rules be suspended a.nd Bill No. 296 be placed on its second reading, seconded by McKeon, the rollwas called a.nd votes were as follows: Clarr-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson-a~eent; Scrivner-aye; McKeon-aye; '.Young-aye; and Bill No. 296 wa.s accordingly read. Scrivner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 296 be placed on its third reading a.nd upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 296, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absnet; Nelson-absent; Scrivner-aye; McKeon-aye; Young-a.ye; a.nd Bill No. 296bwas accordingly read, approved by Mayor Pilger and became Ordinance No. 296. Clark moved that if a,t all possible the Police Department should receive the Asians.flu shots and arrangements should be made therefor, seconded by Young, the roll was called and votes were as Blows: Clark-aye; Klamm-absent; Nelson-absent; McKeon-a.ye Scrivnerpa.ye and Young-a.ye; Clark moved meeting adjourn, seconded by McKeon, mmeting adjourned.
