A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri was held May 1, 1956, at 8:00 p.m. in the
City Hall, upon a roll call, aldermen Clark, Klamm, Nelson,
Scrivner, and Young were present, Traugott absent, and Mayor
b'ilsJer calling std meeting to order.
Minutes of regular meeting of Board of Aldermen of April 17,
1956 were read and approved as read.
Collectoris report for month of April, 1 956 was read and
accepted.
Mr. 1'~liller, resident of Indian Hills spoke as repr~:senting
a non profit corporation f ormed in Indian Hills and requested the
city help in some of their problems, s~~.d problems being having
the dogs vacinated and other controls over does, fixing speed limit
in Indian Bills and naming; of the streets. He also stated he
was an auditor and ta.~uld appreciate the city diving him the
op?-~ortunity of audit'ng the City's books.
A gentleman of Federal Laboratories der~,onstrated golice
equipment, a speed check devic®, complete unit costing ~w445.';0
and Tear gas equipment, costing 260.00 complete unit.
Youngmoved that the city purch<:se for the collector a
filinm cabinet with wheels, seconded by Clark, the roll w s
called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye;

Thereupon Scrivner moved that Bill No. 240 being bill
provising for the appropriat'_on of money out of the General
Fund of the City of Riverside, Missouri for the payment of certain
indebtedness as follows:be placed on its first reading:

Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 240 be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become Ord. No. 239,
seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows:

:young-aye; and Bill No. 240 was accordingly read, approved by
Niayor Fil~;er and became Ord. No. 239.
Klamm moved that the City purchase four speed signs to be
installed in Indian Hills, second by Clark, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klamm-aye; Nelson-aye;
Scrivner-aye; Traugott-absent; and Young-aye;
Thereupon Scrivner r.roved that Bill No. 241 being bill fixing
the terms of a contract with the Christian Construct`. on Con_pany, Inc.
for the performance of all the >>eneral construction work necessary to
construct a new City Hal 1 building in the City of Riverside, Missouri,
providing for the execution of said contract, and requiring a b and
guaranteeing s id work bl~ p~l~ced on its firs, rl~ading,~~xc,~na~c~~by

Thereupon Klarnm moved that rules be suspended and Bill
No. 241 be ~ticed on its second reading, seconded by Nelson, the
roll was called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klarnm-aye;
Nelson-ale; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-absent Young-aye; and Bill No. 241
was accordingly ;read,
Thereupon Nelson moved that rules be suspended and bill
No. 241 be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same
become Ordinance No. 240, seconded by Clark, the roll was ~7.lled
and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klarnm-aye; P1leson-aye;
Scrivner-aye; Traugott-absent and Young-aye; B~_11 No. 241 was
accordingly read, approved by Mayor Filger and became Ordinance
No. 240.
Mayor Filger appointed Young and Scrivner to see Mr.
Leslie Renner regarding his property in order for the Northwood
road be widened from Highway 6g to the proposed City Hall Building.
Thereupon Nelson moved that Bill No. 242 being bill
prohibiting the transfer of occupation licenses and
other permits in the City of Riverside, Missouri be placed on its
first reading, seconded by Scrivner, the roll was called and votes
were a:s follows: Clark-aye; Klarnm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-a,ye;
Traugott-absent; Young-aye; and Bill No. 242 was accordingly read.
Scrivner moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 242
be placed on its second reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was
called and votes were a.s follows : Clark-aye; Klarn;,:-a e; Nelson-aye;
Scrivner-aye; Traugott-aye; Young-aye; and Bill No. 2~2 was
accordingly read.
Nelson moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 242
be placed on its third reading and upon passage of same become
Ord. No. 241, seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes
were as follows: Clark,aye; Klarnm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye;
Traugott-a~sent# Young-aye; and Bill No. 242 was accordingly read,
approved by Mayor Filger and became Ord. No. 241.
Thereupon K1am:i1 moved that Bill No. 243 being bill
regulating the operation of rifle shotgun ranges in the City of
Riverside, Missouri a.nd providing alpenalty for violation hereof,
be pplaced on its first reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was
called and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klam:n-aye; Nelson-aye
Scrivner-aye; Traugott-aye; Young-aye; a.nd Bill No. 243 was
accordingly read.
Clark moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 24$ be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Nelson, the roll was called
and votes were as follows: Clark-aye; Klarnm-aye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-ay.
Traugott-absent; Young-aye; and Bill No. 24~ was accordingly read.
Klarnm moved that rules be suspended and Bill No. 24$ be placed
on its third reading and upon passage of same become ord. No. 242
seconded by Clark, the roll was called and votes were as follows:

Young-aye; and Bill Nc.. 243 was accordingly read, approved by
Iv~ayor Filger and became Ord. No. 242.
Nelson moved that Clary Adams business license application be
approved, seconded by Klarnm, the roll was called and votes were as
follows: Clark-aye; Klar,im-a.ye; Nelson-aye; Scrivner-aye; Traugott-absent
and Young-aye;
Klarnm moved meeting adjourn, second by Clark, meeting adjourned.
